The music of an American composer, pianist, and arranger, Burt Bacharach, can be heard in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House
A true pioneer, Bacharach brought the sophistication of jazz and classical music into pop, and his songs continue to resonate with millions of listeners around the world. He began his career as an arranger and accompanist for then-rising star Marlene Dietrich. His hits were performed by some of the most iconic American singers of the 1970s, including Dionne Warwick and Tom Jones. His most successful collaboration was with lyricist Hal David—together, they created dozens of songs that became pop classics. The audience will be able to enjoy a selection of their greatest hits performed by outstanding guest artists and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
