The Four Seasons, Gypsy Airs Op. 20
A. Vivaldi, P. Sarasate, J. Pachelbel, J. Brahms
Delightful concert program composed of Vivaldi´s Fours Seasons, Gypsy Airs by Sarasate, etc.
Prague Municipal House and the splendid interior of its main hall, named after famous Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, will take your breath away. The best way how to explore this exquisite hall is to attend one of the great classical concerts held here.
Built as a tribute to Bedřich Smetana - world known Czech composer. Representative Smetana Hall was the site of the independent Czechoslovak Republic declaration in 1918. Nowadays it serves predominantly as a concert hall.
Beautiful Art Nouveau decorations – paintings with Slavic motifs, decorative stained glass ceiling, gilded lamps, beautiful organ – all this creates an unusually harmonic whole, which is a worthy area for implementation of the greatest treasures of Czech and world classical music.
The Municipal House in Prague was built at the place of the former Royal Court in 1912 to celebrate the Czech nation. It is a representative building which for its splendour and beautiful decorations is one of the jewels of Prague architecture. Although the building is usually described as an "Art Nouveau" edifice it is more of a blend of neo-Baroque, neo-Renaissance, western and oriental influences and Czech Art Nouveau style.
Today, the Municipal House in Prague offers a wide range of multifunctional premises in which all sorts of events are held (exhibitions, conferences, fashion shows, charity events, companies' shows, etc.). There is also a great and highly recommendable French restaurant, Municipal House Café and American bar.
Municipal House is, above all, a great venue for Prague classical music concerts and one of the prime venues of the world-famous Prague Spring Festival.
Do not miss your chance to visit great classical music concert in one of the nicest concert venues in Prague!
The Smetana Hall is stunning.
Dobře zvolené místo!
Art Nouveau perfection. I may be biased, I feel like Art Nouveau was the last period of art, after which we've had very little but "design" and "visual expression". Art Nouveau is the apogee of spirit and skilled form combined, and Smetana Hall embodies that to perfection.
Beautiful place, orchestra, worthy price!
The reason for my review is the lack of guidance during queuing. Everyone tried to enter the building all at once which created a chaotic scene to say the least. There should be a clear path for queuing and there should be staff guiding everyone. Also after the start of the concert, at every interlude, many people were let in to the hall which created disruption. Never experienced people to be allowed in 30 minutes after the start of the performance. Not in London at least.
Gorgeous venue, comfortable seats and well organised!
love it
Beautiful concert hall
The location is something else, very beautiful and impressive.
The Coat Check needs more attendants because the queue was terribly long and slow, and it delayed people from arriving into the hall before the concert began.
A very beautiful concert hall
Excellent and historical venue
The concert hall was beautiful and elegant.
Excellent and historical venue
Large hall, view sights bad in back and singer a little hard to hear so recommend sitting closer to front or in upper side seats
Very good
Salle magnifique qui vaut la visite
Chairs uncomfortable
Stunning
I've been wanting to attend a concert in Smetana Hall and was very grateful for the opportunity. We attended earlier concerts at St. Salvator and Lichtenstein Palace. They were better suited for the audience size.
The Smetana Hall is a beautiful venue with wonderful acoustics heard where I was seated in Parterre C, row 28. The Municipal building itself was a feast for the eyes and there were many places to take photos to remember the event with. It would be nice if the seat rows were more staggered by height and side to side as although I was in a seat that would give a good sight of the entire orchestra, a tall person was seated directly in front of me blocking the entire midsection of my view.
You need to go inside to appreciate this place, incredible !
We love mucha
Skvělé
Zeer mooi gebouw met prachtige concertzaal.
Fantastically beautiful venue with free cloak room with efficient handling both at arrival and departure
Magique!
Superbe lieu.
Beautiful building, but the concerthall itself doesn’t have a good accoustic.
Magnifique salle Art nouveau.
Great unique music hall and venue!
Lovely setting. Would happily return for future concerts.
excellent acoustics and organisation
Salle vraiment incroyable.
Very well organsiaed, the free coat check is a great idea and makes for a more comfortable experience for all. Concert hall was beautiful, clean and comfortable.
Fabulous venue.
Beautiful setting, great seats
Magnifique !
Beautiful venue
Beautiful venue with amazing acoustics.
Beautiful and warm.
The Smetana Hall is a beautiful venue, full of art deco paintings and decoration. The acoustics were excellent. It was a pity that there was nowhere to get any refereshments either before the concert or in the interval.
Lovely architecture, feast to the eye. Beautiful colour scheme. Very friendly staff
Lovely hall, excellent acoustics.
Miluji tyto prostory , také mám vzpomínku když jsem do Smetanovy síně chodívala do prvních tanečních....
We liked the Smetana Hall and were able to see the stage from our seats on the second row, As we were getting on a bit, the staff offered to take us up to the Hall in a very old-fashioned lift which was nice of them.
Smetana Hall is beautiful. Unfortunately, the instruments at the back of the stage carried more than the other instruments, resulting in balance mismatches which made the low instruments (brass and percussion) too loud in comparison to the strings and woodwinds.
Beautiful place
I am so amazing at the wonderful hall that I have never seen. The hall is very very beautiful! I enjoyed the Historical architecture and classical music .Thank you very much.
Absolutely stunning concert hall & beautiful music paired with it, made the perfect night!
Bravissimo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TY
On a beaucoup aimé.
Un lugar muy hermoso Vale la pena
Both the atmosphere and acoustics were excellent.
Občas si sousedé rozbalovali bonbony a šustili jimi, to rušilo.
We went to two concerts in Prague and another in Vienna, but this was our favorite. The venue was beautiful with leg room for my husband and toilet facilities on the same floor. The guest violinist and cellist were grand, but it was extra special to hear Dvorak -- a Czech composer's music in a Czech music hall was a trip highlight.
1. On line booking didn’t have a chance to choose seats number(only raws) which have caused us confusion and trouble. We have to move seats because people had tickets with exact seats numbers where we were sitting. 2. It’s mentioned dress code is smart causal, but some people were wearing short pants and slippers. It’s really not acceptable.
Vstupenky jsme dostali jako dárek.
Salle magnifique
The disadvantage was that our seats were making "sticky" noises every time we moved and it caused looks from around us, that made my sister and I uncomfortable. Also, since it is a very big venue and a lot of seats were free, maybe staff could have move everyone closer according to price range paid? We were at the last row, and didn't move out of respect to be what we paid for
Nice and organized venue indeed
Smetana Hall was a gorgeous venue for the performance and the acoustics were wonderful.
.
A beautiful venue, a must see of Prague.
very nice atmosphere. suggestion to accept credit cards for refreshments
What a wonderful concert Hall! we really enjoyed the Smetana Hall. One of the most beautiful Art Nouveau Concert halls, I think.
Great Art Nouveau premises. Helpful and friendly personnel.
Très belle salle. Très bonne accoustique
great place to visit
Beautiful hall, but seats very hard
Perfect acoustics! Magnificent concert hall! Art deco inside and out. Magnificent space
Great acoustics
Beautiful, historic municipal hall - another star of the performance. Balcony seat provided great view. Only minor feedback is that only cash was accepted for refreshments - many travellers use cards for security and it would be nice to have this. But very minor thing overall. Thank you!
Excellent venue but a bit of disorganisation with the seats
Great opportunity to discover the place prior to the event.
The venue is lovely, however a noisy, repeated knocking (from an air vent?) was sufficiently distracting that a change of seats mid concert was required.
Superb
Un endroit à découvrir impérativement.
Beautiful building
Just being in this concert hall is worth everything. One of the most exquisite venues I've been in, perfect in every sense. Don't miss any chance to be here.
Beautiful! Bad lighting though!
Un superbe bâtiment.
The place is good, too many details to observe on the ceiling :)
Covid bylo nás tam málo. Cca 200 ???Akustika nevím seděli jsme blízko tam OK. Jak jinde nemohu posoudit. 6
Lovely Art Nouveau concert venue and excellent acoustics.
Great place for a chamber music.
Beautiful venue. Excellent acoustics. Very nice people.
Very beautiful setting for an amazing and enchanting concert!
Delightful concert program composed of Vivaldi´s Fours Seasons, Gypsy Airs by Sarasate, etc.

Swim in the ocean of romantic music of the greatest composers of all times.
Musicians of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra perform W. A. Mozart and A. Dvořák.
Enchanting potpourri of famous classical pieces, rendered by acclaimed Czech musicians.
