The author and producer of the project, musician and composer Michal Dvořák, says of the new adaptation: “The atmosphere of Venice full of lights, which we have managed to create in this version, will provide viewers with an even stronger experience and perfectly support the story and music of Antonio Vivaldi. Just as Vivaldi was innovative and modern in his time, we too strive to approach his work with the latest technical and visual means – with absolute respect for his genius.”
The libretto was written by lyricist, playwright, and screenwriter Tomáš Belko, with Jiří Janouch as co-author of the arrangements. Hollywood star and 007 agent Pierce Brosnan guides us through Vivaldi’s life story. In the Czech version, the narrator is voiced by actor Jiří Dvořák. Other voices include Kryštof Hádek, Jan Dolanský, Pavla Tomicová, Petr Štěpánek, Vilma Cibulková, Patricie Pagáčová, and Milan Peroutka.
International audiences can enjoy the original English version via the Cinewav app, synchronized with live music.
The project was newly adapted for the Hybernia Theater under the direction of Michal Dvořák, co-author, producer, and member of the legendary band Lucie.
