A project that connects women’s voices across genres and generations
This year, Jazz Dock once again becomes the stage for the 4th edition of the Women’s Vocal Night. Over two evenings, six remarkable artists from the Czech and Slovak music scenes will share one stage: Naďa Válová, NIKA, Marta Töpferová, Martina Trchová, Anna Kubalová (SK), and Petra Ernyeiová.
Each singer’s songs will appear in new arrangements created especially for the festival band made up of outstanding musicians. The festival offers a unique opportunity to hear diverse female voices in an original and vibrant setting. The Friday program will also include a vocal workshop for the public, giving participants the chance to perform alongside the artists during the evening concert. In cooperation with the Magdalena Kožená Foundation, the festival will also welcome young talented singers from Czech elementary art schools (ZUŠ) to the stage, creating a beautiful bridge between the world of emerging talent and experienced professionals.
The project was founded by singer Petra Ernyeiová in 2021 to create space for collaboration and to remind audiences of the musical treasures we have right here. Women’s Vocal Night at Jazz Dock is an unforgettable celebration of women and music. Over the years, the festival has revealed and reintroduced many exceptional singers. Previous editions have featured Markéta Foukalová, Marta Kloučková, Ridina Ahmedová, Gabriela Vermelho, Yvonne Sanchez, Júlia Kozáková, Simona Hulejová, and other artists who show that the female voice holds endless forms and stories. In cooperation with the Magdalena Kožená Foundation, we will also welcome young talented singers from elementary art schools (ZUŠ) to the stage. The festival connects young talents with experienced singers and gives them the opportunity to meet and perform together on one stage.
