Justin Lavash celebrates the release of his new album Witness at Jazz Dock
This is the first studio album of new material that he has produced in almost eight years, following a series of life-changing events, including two bouts of cancer and a brush with death on the operating table. Now fully recovered and musically very much back on form, Lavash brings forth an album that is a mixture of nuanced chanson and foot-tapping groove, inspired by an eclectic mixture of influences, including funk, hip hop, folk, and chanson francaise. A Lavash concert is a fascinating journey through musical genres and styles, perfectly executed with perceptive lyric writing, a soulful voice, and exquisite guitar work to boot. In addition to material from the new record, we are promised some classic songs from the Lavash repertoire. His concerts at Jazz Dock are very popular, so book early to ensure a table! This time, he will be joined by the excellent drummer David Landštof!
