Weinberg, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Beethoven: Julian Rachlin's Prague debut on the podium

Julian Rachlin. A miracle of our time. From child-prodigy violinist, he has become a remarkable conductor as well, currently Chief Conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. That is why we so eagerly anticipate our first encounter with him in May 2027. Not only will his Stradivarius "ex Liebig" take the stage, but together with the Prague Symphony Orchestra he will also conduct purely orchestral works: the Sinfonietta by Mieczysław Weinberg, a composer riding a wave of rediscovery, and the Seventh Symphony by a composer who never left that wave - Beethoven. Anniversary or not - though 2027 does mark 200 years since his passing - how can we speak of a departure, when he lives on in each of us?

Program:

  • Mieczysław Weinberg | Sinfonietta No. 1 Op. 41
  • Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy | Violin Concerto in E minor Op. 64
  • Ludwig van Beethoven | Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92
