Final rehearsal in Smetana Hall: Prague Symphony Orchestra

The morning final rehearsal with the Prague Symphony Orchestra brings you closer to Baroque music

For his Advent concerts, Chief Conductor Tomáš Netopil presents a program inspired by his love of Baroque music. Rameau's radiant orchestral suite opens the evening, followed by Poulenc's sparkling Concert champêtre – a witty twentieth-century homage to the harpsichord – performed by the brilliant Jean Rondeau, one of today's most distinctive exponents of the instrument. Luboš Fišer's Christmas, with its colourful settings of traditional Czech carols for soloists, choirs and orchestra, brings the program to a joyful close as the festive season draws near.
