Discover charming Lesser Town below Prague Castle or walk on the bridge towards the Old Town
Visit the higher of the two Lesser Town Towers. The two towers are connected by an ancient gate. The tower was built in the second half of the 15th century to replace an earlier Romanesque tower.
The tower at the western end of the Charles Bridge actually composes two towers of different size, origin and appearance.
The smaller tower was built in the Romanesque style, is older of the two and is the only remaining part of the original Judith Bridge, which stood on the site of Charles Bridge and was Prague’s first stone bridge built in the early 12th century but destroyed by the flood in 1342.
The taller Late Gothic tower from 1464 is based on the architecture of Petr Parléř's Old Town Bridge Tower.
