Immerse yourself in the beauty of Baroque Italian and Spanish songs

The Musica Poetica ensemble will present a new concert program to audiences called ‘Baroque Lullabies of Southern Europe’. The program aims to highlight the Italian and Spanish songs, which will be performed accompanied by period instruments – the lute, Baroque harp, viola da gamba, flute and harpsichord. It will also showcase the fascinating lyrical aspects of these works – particularly in the case of sacred lullabies, where a soothing melody is often juxtaposed with lyrics that are dramatic in nature. The ensemble will be joined in this new program by lutenist Tomáš Najbrt, who has previously performed with them in concerts such as *Espaňoleta* and *Divotvůrkyně*.

Program:

• C. Monteverdi
• G. Baptista
• O. Michi dell'Arpa, etc.

Concerts in the Liechtenstein Palace, the seat of Academy of music, are known for their high artistic level

The Liechtenstein Palace was built on the grounds of five city houses in 1591 and rebuilt in Classical style in 18th cenutry. The princely family of Lichtensteins gradually lost interest in the Palace and sold it to the Earl of Ledebour. Later on, the Palace housed many different institutions, until finally in 1980´s it was acquired by the Academy of Musical Arts.

It was beautifully reconstructed and adjusted for the purposes of the Academy. Nowadays, the Liechtenstein Palace is literally full of music! The Liechtenstein Palace is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

How to get there:

• Accessibility by public transport:
  tram -  Malostranské náměstí stop
• Nearest car parking:
  Malostranské Square (upper part)

Important:

There are two Liechtenstein palaces in Prague. Look for the Liechtenstein Palace at Malostranské náměstí (Lesser Town Square), opposite St. Nicholas Church.
