Intimate costumed performance of Händel, Vivaldi, and Monteverdi masterpieces

Baroque music was created to entertain the courts and aristocracy — and it was never meant to be dull. Today, intimate Baroque performances where you can truly relax and lose yourself in the atmosphere are surprisingly hard to find. During tonight´s performance, the music is accompanied by vivid costumes, staged scenes, and theatrical storytelling.

The ensemble specialises in classical singing, particularly opera, but also sacred music. Its concert performances are accompanied by semi-staged productions featuring period-appropriate, handmade costumes and small props to make classical vocal music more accessible and popular. The ensemble’s repertoire is based on thematic projects devoted to Baroque music, Romantic-era operatic literature, and sacred music. The ensemble also combines the heritage of world music with the national music of its homeland. Depending on the chosen programme, the ensemble utilises appropriate instrumental accompaniment (piano, harpsichord, organ, strings). The vocal line-up consists mainly of young opera singers, graduates of conservatoires and other masterclasses. The ensemble’s artistic director is the soprano Svitlana Pechenigivska, a graduate of the International Conservatoire in Prague, who is also responsible for the ensemble’s program selection, project direction, and costume design.
