The Dancing House resembles the characters of famous dancers Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire

The famous building has become an integral part of Prague. The refurbished Dancing House opened to the public in 1996 and, in the same year, won the prestigious award of the American magazine Time in the Design of the Year category. Previously, the house was destroyed in 1945 by the bombs of American aircraft confusing Prague for Dresden.

During the communist regime, the building was shut down. The Croatian architect Vlado Milunić along with Frank O. Gehry are the new building designers who outlined the whole building. The building has gained its name thanks to the towers that resemble the characters of the dancers Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. The dancer is a stone tower and his partner is a glass tower. At the top of the tower symbolizing the trench, the dome with a metal pipe construction is covered with a stainless mesh mesh, shrouded in imaginary hair, and represents the jellyfish head.

Nowadays the building has a restaurant located on the top floor, a luxury café, and offices. At the top of the house, you will find a terrace where you can admire beautiful views of Prague.
