With the first notes of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s music, the stage comes to life and turns into a fairy-tale kingdom. Get ready for a nighttime adventure where dreams come true. Little Clara receives an extraordinary figurine for Christmas – the Nutcracker. Little does she know that at the stroke of midnight her toy will wake up and take her on an extraordinary and long journey. Together they embark on an adventure to a magical world, where the Nutcracker fights as a brave prince against the evil Mouse King. Their journey takes them to the Kingdom of Snowflakes, where dance creates a fragile and sparkling landscape, they travel through exotic landscapes full of butterflies and birds and finally to the Kingdom of the Christmas Fairy. Students and graduates of the Prague Dance Conservatory

The Prague Dance Conservatory has been shaping Czech dance art since 1945. It is the oldest and largest school of its kind in the Czech Republic. In almost eighty years of existence, it has nurtured generations of artists who shine on domestic and foreign stages as dancers, choreographers, ballet masters, and teachers. The school’s students regularly achieve success in international competitions and bring dance to festivals and concert stages around the world.

In Hybernia theatre you can see the best of the famous ballet and opera performed by leading Czech artists

Hybernia Theatre and its location have a rich history. In the 14th century, the emperor Charles IV built the St. Ambrosius monastery here which gradually fell under different orders, the Benedictines, Minorites, and finally in the 17th century the Irish Franciscans.

In late-18th century the monastery was shut down on the order of Emperor Joseph II and the church was deconsecrated. Still, the place was called „U Hybernů“ (Hybernia means Ireland in latin). The former church served as a customs house, exhibition hall. In 2006 its interior was transformed into a modern theatre hosting mainly musicals, but also ballet, opera performances and jazz concerts.
