The other Czech Classicists: Rudolfinum Consort celebrates Mysliveček, Fiala & Beyond

Unjustly neglected Czech composers will again be under the spotlight thanks to enthusiasts of (not only) early music among the Philharmonic players. In works for wind instruments, including two modern-era premieres, the ensemble will demonstrate the forms the style took in the music of internationally recognised Czech natives.

  • Josef Mysliveček
Octet in B flat major for two oboes, two clarinets, two French horns, and two bassoons
  • Josef Fiala
Three quintets for two English horns, two French horns, and bassoon, selections
Three duettos for oboe and bassoon
  • Antonín Vranický
Two Hunting Marches in the French Manner for octet, double bassoon, and trumpet, selections
  • Leopold Eugen Měchura
