Hear Beethoven's Pastoral at Dvořák Hall: Collegium 1704 brings nature to life at Rudolfinum
The Pastoral Symphony holds a unique place within Beethoven’s symphonic output. Its affirmative spirit and remarkable tone-painting celebrating the beauty and power of nature, together with its idealised portrayal of life in the countryside, make it the first great Romantic symphony.
Program:
- W. A. Mozart
Overture to the opera Die Zauberflöte K 620 - J. M. Kraus
Symphony in C minor - L. van Beethoven
Symphony No. 6 in F major “Pastoral” Op. 68
Performing:
Václav Luks conductor
Collegium 1704
