Zelenka's Missa Dei Filii at Dvořák Hall: the Mass he never got to finish
Towards the end of his life, Zelenka set out to create a collection of six final Masses. The project remained unfinished, leaving only a fragment of three compositions, which nonetheless represent an undisputed pinnacle of Zelenka’s output. The second Mass in the series, dedicated to the Son of God, is a work overflowing with inward expression and dazzling virtuosity.

Collegium 1704 is a Prague-based, highly acclaimed Baroque orchestra established in 2005 by the conductor and harpsichordist Václav Luks. The orchestra & vocal ensemble present famous orchestral and choral works by well-known composers as well as long-forgotten and now rediscovered treasures of the Baroque repertoire. The ensemble has been successfully promoting the work of Czech masters like Jan Dismas Zelenka and Josef Mysliveček.
