Composer and pianist Kryštof Mařatka joins violist Karine Lethiec for a program inspired by artistic innovation and the spirit of surrealism
Spanning more than two centuries, it brings together music by trailblazing composers who challenged convention, from Maria Theresia von Paradis to Debussy and Martinů, alongside two of Mařatka's own distinctive works. Performed in the atmospheric setting of the Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia, the program reveals unexpected connections across centuries of musical imagination.
Program:
- Maria Theresia von Paradis | Siciliana
- Bohuslav Martinů | Rhapsody – Concerto for Viola and Piano
- Kryštof Mařatka | Altotem – archaic nocturnal music for viola with piano accompaniment
Sono Anima for viola and ensemble of archaic trans-instruments - Claude Debussy | Clair de lune for Viola and Piano
Performing:
Kryštof Mařatka - piano and archaic trans-instruments
Karine Lethiec - viola
