Evgeny Kissin plays Beethoven: Sonatas & the Diabelli Variations

This year’s Czech Philharmonic chamber concerts have a distinctly “Beethovenian” focus, especially in light of the anniversary. This trend will be continued by a particularly distinguished guest, the iconic pianist and Prague native Evgeny Kissin. For his extraordinary concert, the virtuoso has chosen two sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven, both of which are generally considered to belong to his earlier period. He will complement them with a much later variation on Diabelli’s catchy waltz.

Program:

  • Ludwig van Beethoven
Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1
Piano Sonata No. 13 in E-flat Major, Op. 27, No. 1
    Diabelli Variations, Op. 120

Performing:

Evgeny Kissin - piano
