Chamber Christmas concert of grand Czech Baroque music next to the Charles Bridge

Hear the organ of St. Francis of Assisi Church - the second oldest organ in Prague, built in 1702. Many famous personalities such as W. A. Mozart, A. Dvořák or J. Seger played this unique music instrument, which has been recently repaired.

Program:

  • Johann Sebastian Bach | Prelude and Fugue in C major, BWV 553
  • Francesco Maria Veracini | Sonata A minor
  • Georg Friedrich Händel | Largo from opera Xerxes
  • Tomaso Albinoni | Adagio G minor
  • Camille Saint-Saëns | Ave Maria
  • Giovanni Battista Pergolesi | Stabat Mater - aria
  • Johann Sebastian Bach | Toccata D Minor
  • Johann Sebastian Bach | St. Mathew pasion – aria
  • Johann Sebastian Bach | Air – Suite No. 3
  • Pietro Mascagni | Ave Maria - Cavaleria Rusticana
  • Jules Massenet | Meditation
  • W. A. Mozart | Ave Verum
  • Antonín Dvořák | Biblical Song
  • Jan Křtitel Kuchař | Fantasie G Minor
  • Franz Schubert | Ave Maria
  • César Franck | Panis Angelicus

Soloists:

Veronika Mráčková-Fučíková – mezzosoprano
Tomáš Kokš – violin
Jiřina Marešová – organ

Our recommendation:

Listen to festive fanfares, played by two trumpeters in stylized costumes on the heraldic trumpets before beginning of the concert at the staircase of the church. The artists are performing in front of the church usually 1,5 - 2 hours before the concert.

Important:

  • No assigned seating; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis
  • The soloists perform most of the concert from the front right balcony by the organ. The last four pieces will be performed on the ground floor in front of the pews.
  • The church opens 20 minutes before the concert
  • Up to 3 children under 10 years old with one adult free of charge
  • No intermission
  • Dress code: casual
  • Program subject to change
