A concert of a mystical Czech singer and composer whose music is characterized by its dreamy yet grand atmosphere
In her work, Barbora Mochowa draws inspiration from cosmic themes and mythical beings such as fairies, will-o’-the-wisps, and water spirits, bringing their stories into the present day. She came to wider public attention through the Czech national round of the Eurovision Song Contest, where she won 1st place from the international jury. Her latest album, Will-o’-the-Wisp (Bludička), earned her a Best New Artist nomination at the Czech Music Awards Anděl 2023.
The first, more intimate part of the evening will feature songs from her debut album Waiting for the White Raven. In the second half, you will hear music from her current release, Will-o’-the-Wisp, performed with a band, electronics, and the Unique Strings quartet.
