In St. Giles Church you can enjoy mainly organ and chamber concerts. St. Giles Church was one of the locations where Miloš Forman shot scenes of his famous film Amadeus.
St. Giles Church built in the 14th century as a cathedral was temporarily an Utrakvists church until 1626 when it was donated to the Dominican order. The Dominicans built up a large convent, in which the order has been operating until today. The interior of St. Giles Church features artistically valuable Baroque altars, beautiful preserved confessionals and a unique organ with 50 registers, 3 manuals and 3500 pipes from 1733. The famous Baroque painter V. V. Reiner is buried here. Apart from its spiritual role, the church serves as a cultural center presenting popular concerts of classical and sacred music.
