St. Giles Church was one of the locations where Miloš Forman shot scenes of his famous film Amadeus. 

St. Giles Church built in the 14th century as a cathedral was temporarily an Utrakvists church until 1626 when it was donated to the Dominican order. The Dominicans built up a large convent, in which the order has been operating until today.

The interior of St. Giles Church features artistically valuable Baroque altars, beautiful preserved confessionals and a unique organ with 50 registers, 3 manuals and 3500 pipes from 1733. The famous Baroque painter V. V. Reiner is buried here. Apart from its spiritual role, the church serves as a cultural center presenting popular concerts of classical and sacred music.
