At St. Giles Church you can enjoy mainly organ and chamber concerts. St. Giles Church was one of the locations where Miloš Forman shot scenes of his famous film Amadeus.
St. Giles Church built in the 14th century as a cathedral was temporarily an Utrakvists church until 1626 when it was donated to the Dominican order. The Dominicans built up a large convent, in which the order has been operating until today.
The interior of St. Giles Church features artistically valuable Baroque altars, beautiful preserved confessionals and a unique organ with 50 registers, 3 manuals and 3500 pipes from 1733. The famous Baroque painter V. V. Reiner is buried here. Apart from its spiritual role, the church serves as a cultural center presenting popular concerts of classical and sacred music.

Kostel krásný, akustika skvělá - ale bylo prodáno více lístků, než bylo míst. Dodatečně se musely donést skládací židle, které stály u vchodu, kde ošklivě táhlo :-(

It is one of the most beautiful church settings to watch a concert in. The church can get cold but heated padding is provided on the church benches.

Beautiful, detailed baroque design. We don't see this in USA. Church is unheated so wear coat. Benches have heated pads.

V kostele sv.Jiljí se klasická hudba skutečně vyjímá, nádherné fresky, varhany z roku 1773 a sochy M.Brokoffa jen dokreslují nevšední hudební zážitek.

Perhaps whoever who is checking tickets should have a more festive dress. That shows how seriously the event is taken. Also, the flyer should state how much is going to charity.
St. Giles is just beautiful and really adds to the experience. The church pews ARE original from the 1700(?) and not built for comfort, so just be prepared for that. You can bring your own cushion or just accept it as part of the authenticity of the place(:

I gave average rating just because the church is very cold in the winter. It is not good for musicians nor their instruments. Please arrange a source of heat for them, thank you.
Beautiful church and nice setting. The building is not heated, so dress warmly. Note that the church had blankets available for no charge.

The Church is amazing, the gold and marble structures really are special. The Church is very cold however the seats were heated and there were ample blankets for everyone if required

One of the most beautiful churches. By arriving ‘on time’ we also saw the end of a service lead by Dominican monks, which was beautiful to listen to.
Sound is pretty good, you can hear every separate musical instrument, no matter where you seat. The atmosphere of this church fascinates you and boosts the impression from the concert.
