Admire splendid Art Nouveau architecture

In the Art Nouveau Hall you can appreciate original wood panelling with inset relief ceramic tiles and mirrors, as well as stucco decorations and remarkable inlaid tiling of the stage. Some of the lamps are also preserved originals.

The Municipal House was built at the place of the former Royal Court in 1912 to celebrate the Czech nation. It is a representative building which for its splendour and beautiful decorations is one of the jewels of Prague architecture. Although the building is usually described as an "Art Nouveau" edifice it is more of a blend of neo-Baroque, neo-Renaissance, western and oriental influences and Czech Art Nouveau style.

The venue offers a wide range of multifunctional premises in which all sorts of events are held (exhibitions, conferences, fashion shows, charity events, companies' shows, etc.). There is also a great and highly recommendable French restaurant, Café and American bar.

The Municipal House is a great place for classical music concerts and one of the prime venues of the world-famous Prague Spring Festival.

Prostředí sálu Vinárna v Obecním domě, ve kterém koncert proběhl, je pro koncerty nevyhovující. Velmi nepříjemná byla hlasitá hudba z vedlejšího sálu, která hodně narušovala poslech skladeb. Podle mého se taková to akce nehodí do místnosti, která byla po koncertě pravděpodobně přestavena opět na vinárnu. Pokud bych věděla v jakém prostředí se bude koncert odehrávat, určitě bych na koncert nešla - narušilo to celkový dojem z koncertu.

A visit to one of, if not the most beautiful building in Prague, is always a pleasure. Just walking and looking around is a pleasure to the eye. A tour of the building is highly recommended. The American Bar and Plzenska Restaurant are my favourite places to eat and drink in Prague. The Art Nouveau Hall is of medium size, compared to other halls in the Municipal Hous and modestly decorated but very stylish. The acoustics are good and I enjoyed the concert there immensely.

Dark narrow hall

Sound was incredible. The downside was that when I booked there were only four seat in the front and four in the back available. I booked four in the front and three in the back. When the performance began many seats were empty and half our family was in the back

Art nouveau room nice , expected chairs to be better but they were fine for 1 hour, might have got uncomfortable for any longer. Excellent acoustics!

The room wasn't fancy but the acoustics were good, and having come from the USA we enjoyed being in such a special building.
