A unique international collaboration of Emilie Leriche and Pascal Marty with Lenka Vagnerová & Company
Together with composer Wolff Bergen, they have created an original, authentic production.
When it's time to leave, the question suddenly arises: Why are we leaving?
And in turn, we ask: But why should we stay?
Whatever we choose, we inevitably find ourselves between two realities -‘here’ and ‘there’. We are trapped somewhere in between. Present in the space we currently inhabit, but also in those we could be - and are not. Sometimes we are absent even from the body that holds us in the present moment, because part of us has stayed with those we let go.
Leaving is uncanny in this way - it tests the boundaries between two worlds, bending their very structure, blurring lines, stories and time. They make us wonder what it might be like on the other side, they project us into other realities. Although it may seem like fiction, the “other side” is a tangible space. An idea of what lies beyond the edges of our present moment - and whether we can be in those places, at least vicariously, without ever actually visiting them. But it is not just a fantasy - it is often reality that makes us leave, or instead stay.
Places and situations may propel us in or out, but people make us stay... And it is precisely these places that this work is talking about: the places we inevitably have to return to.
