Panoptikum is about the fear of the stranger and the unknown

It's also about what we are capable of selling and at what price, about boundaries and moral values ​​standing on profit, about fun without fun, loneliness, but also about laughter, courage, dreams, human dignity, the magician and the spotlights.

Panoptikum will take the audience on a journey through a surreal, mystical, decadent world inspired by the phenomenon of 19th-century traveling companies that showcased curious objects, exceptional skills – and, above all, unique individuals. It explores themes of power, manipulation, and the fear of the stranger and unknown.

Komedie Theatre

The theatre offers audiences performances by contemporary playwrights, works by foreign playwrights, exhibitions and contemporary dance performances

The Komedie Theatre is located in the basement storeys of an office and commercial building constructed between 1928 and 1930 according to the design of architect Josef Karel Říha. The theatre underwent several reconstructions over the years. In the 30s and 40s, the famous Czech actor Vlasta Burian performed there. Throughout history, the theatre has had several owners; the last one is the theatre organisation "Městská divadla pražská", which owns several Prague theatres.
