From Haydn to Chopin: an evening of rare encounters with one of the Czech leading pianists

Miroslav Sekera steps into the spotlight with a recital that combines familiar masterpieces with rarely heard discoveries. Haydn's late sonatas frame an adventurous programme that includes Gideon Klein's rarely performed Piano Sonata and the Czech premiere of Joseph Summer's The Dumb Show. The evening concludes with three of Chopin's powerful Polonaises, bringing virtuosity and brilliance to a program shaped by curiosity, imagination and a spirit of exploration.

  • Joseph Haydn | Sonata in C major, Hob. XVI/50
Sonata in E flat major, Hob.XVI:52
  • Gideon Klein | Sonata
  • Joseph Summer | The Dumb Show (Czech premiere)
  • Fryderyk Chopin | Polonaise in C sharp minor Op. 26 No. 1
Polonaise in E flat minor Op. 26 No. 2
