Théâtre
Visiring the Czech National Theatre is an event by itself.
The theater staff are very helpful and polite. Absolutely gorgeous theater too!
Love the venue! Exceptional.
Beautiful, and well managed on the night
I love the theater's design and service.
No elevator…
Comfy seats. Helpful staff. A very pleasant and enjoyable evening
The chairs were very comfortable and the crew were attentive and helpful. The bar had great offers of drinks and snacks.
Stunning venue, breathtaking architecture which is very unique. Oh how I love the little Czech sandwiches with a glass of bubbly for a very reasonable price! You can also preorder your top up drinks for the interval. Sadly we couldn’t take them to our box, but equally I understand that it is rather easy to get carried away with the performance and drop your drink over the balcony on someone’s head.
Un Hermoso Teatro con detalles decorativos preciosos. Muy buena acústica.
Excellent
If you haven't been to the National Theatre, you have something to look forward to! There are few buildings in this world who can boast a more breathtakingly beautiful interior. Large coat room where you leave your jacket free of charge, a gorgeous little bar up in the 3rd floor overlooking the Vltava, and of course the theatre itself: to die for! Be warned though: we didn't print out our tickets from the Prague Ticket Office, and that turned out to be a bit troublesome. We had to go to the receptionist, who gave us a handwritten note with our seat. This caused a bit of confusion amongst the ticket controllers.
The seats in the Stalls area of the National Theatre are definitely more comfortable than similar seats at the Coliseum in London (home of the English National Opera). But the slopes on the circuit outside to access the stalls were most unexpected!
Very good, as always.
Good as always.
Wonderful space!
Beautiful Theater but I couldn't read the translation into English from my seat. The Teather should inform when buying the tickets of partial view to the words in English.
Absolutely gorgeous theatre! I had an excellent seat!
Perfection
It was difficult to read the small text of the surtitles and the stage lighting made the text fade.
What an exquisite theatre! The acoustics was prima!
Quel beauté cette salle !
When the show started I was a bit lost as it did not look like the Carmen I had seen before, but soon I warmed up to it, understood the modern touch and the subtle colours in the traditional Carmen. The choreography was fantastic and so were the acting and the voices. Well done and thank you Prague.
We were told there would be English and German surtitles for this production. There were surtitles, but they were so faint due to the glare from the stage, that they were unreadable. We left at the interval.
Wonderful
Lieu sublime. Une plongée dans l'histoire.
Magnifique dorures et peintures au plafond…
The theatre is a fascinating ancient place to see such a show, I recommend a visit to the terrace during one of the break for a stunning view of the city and the river
A really beautiful theatre. The seating on the balconies is very cramped and not suitable for tall people, but there are chairs in the small balcony areas to the side and there is more space there.
The national Theatre is high Clans by itself
The National Theatre in Prague is a classic, historic venue. I very much enjoyed the venue & the experience
As a visitor (from New Zealand) the rich history of the venue is stunning esp the tiered boxes. Staff very welcoming and helpful
Très bel endroit.
Gorgeous building, great sightlines. Tight footroom, but I do have large feet 😁
accoustics , ambiance welldressed visitors
Lovely opera house, we appreciated the late eighteen hundreds splendor
Beautiful Theatre
Plafond sympa. Ambiance velours Bordeaux et or.
A nice experience with professional and friendly staff, comfortable seating with great views of entire orchestra and stage!
Beautiful building with a lot of history. You need to see this!
The seats were comfortable enough but I wish that there was a better way to see which seat you’re selecting
Stunningly beautiful building.
This is perhaps silly, but a concert-goer should not have to pay to be able to see who played which characters, and especially who was in the orchestra pit for a given night. I’m an orchestral musician and if I don’t know who was in the pit, I cannot network. Additionally, credit is due to the people who put their backs into the performance. The orchestra Carrie’s the performance for both opera and ballet, and I was really disappointed that the information of who was playing each night was not readily available. It’s all well and good that there’s a list of everyone in the National Orchestra buried in the bowels of the internet online, but that doesn’t tell me exactly who did what on the night I attended a performance.
See above.
Very nice venue and drinks available before and at intermission.
Amazing
Le theatre national, un endroit de rêve.
Theatre, acoustics, chorus, and orchestra very nice. Superb costume designs and choreography, simply superb. My congratulations do Messrs. Hanecka and Dvorak. So why did I rate the event just "average"? Because, and unfortunately, the two main characters simply are NOT up to the job. They lack charisma, physique du rôle and the demanded quality as singers, specially Ms. Weissova. Pity, because they spoiled an otherwise impeccable spectacle.
The seats were in the second box - the first row. Everything was seen and heard. Before my eyes was a translation into English and Czech.
Great facilities and helpful staff
The building is magnificent, as is the hall.
Beautiful and classy staff
The National Theatre is truly amazing!
Beautiful building
Stunning venue
The National Theatre is a lovely, historic venue for theater, opera, and other performances. We were delighted to be able to attend when we were in Praha recently.
Lovely venue, helpful and friendly staff
The National Theatre in Prague is beautiful. We sat in the last row on the ground level and could see and hear well.
Beautiful and very festive, Legroom was an issue ...
The seats are comfortable and has good leg room.
Superbe cadre.
This venue is simply legendary, highly recommended.
Lieu magnifique. Organisation parfaite. Spectacle à l'heure.
Belle salle, confortable, bonne acoustique.
très belle salle
Salle splendide.
The national theatre is beautiful. I had some older friends with me and they have a hard time with stairs. Since our seats were in one of the balconies, we asked about a lift and were told it was sort-of working but we shouldn't use it. So if you have a hard time with stairs be sure your seats are on the main floor. Otherwise the venue is great.
Peut-être la plus belle salle de Prague.
Magnifique théâtre. Confort. Très bonne organisation : contrôles entrée, vestiaires, buffets.
An absolutely beautiful building! The set design was fantastic as well.
Very beautiful theatre.
Can’t be better
Must be the must visit venue in Prague. Venue staff are very friendly & the small and plentiful bars are good value.
Beautiful
Lieu magnifique
Beautiful but not very comfortable.
The National Theatre is a beautiful venue. However, do not sit in a box. You will not be able to see the entire stage. The seats are uncomfortable and there is not enough space for four people. The regular seating on the main floor or the first balcony is fine.
Beautiful buidling, great accoustics
The auditorium was extremely good. What was terrible were the toilets. We sat in the stalls and used the toilets to the sides. The smell was awful. Stale urine causes that smell and can be got rid of by a thorough clean.
Beautiful theater with comfortable seats (i.e. leg room)
Very nice
Impressive, sumptuous theatre.
Everyone who visits Prague should book a concert at the Imperial Theatre for the wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it.
As above noted an excellent and OST impressive venue.
I found the seats a little uncomfortable, too hard. Otherwise everything was fine.
The theater is wonderful. Missed a lift to the galeries. Unfortunately there was an issue with my reservation. When I went to the box office to change my voucher, was told the reservation was for December. However, after showing the email with the confirmation, a lovely lady explained me it was a technical question and offer me another seat in the same row. Not the best application to buy tickets, but great customer service.
The theatre is a lovely building, it was the 'star' of the evening and made our visit to the opera feel even more special. The bufets (bars) on each level was very convenient and reduced the stress of ensuring you were back in your seat for the next act after enjoying refreshments. The staff were friendly and performance itself was very good. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this experience to others - a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Beautiful venue, very helpful staff.
The theater is so beautiful, you are transported to another century.
Exceptionnel.
Absolutely beautiful
The venue was plush and a lovely space to be in.
Stunning beauty of a building. The temperature was kept VERY warm. jThe refreshment stands were well located as were the WCs.
One of the most glorious theatre spaces in Europe. A must-see.
The Prague National Theatre was almost worth the cost if admission on its own! A real gem of a building. Gold leaf and carvings everywhere with an enormous chandelier to set it all off. Visually stunning. Although the better seats had gone by the time we booked and we could not see part of the stage this did not really spoil our enjoyment. The ticket price was very low given the costs that staging such a production must involve. Drink prices and the programme were also very reasonable. In Britain one feels exploited by programmes and drinks costing almost as much as the ticket prices. One suggestion is that when tickets are collected from the box office in the new building people are told where to go. It took us a few minutes to realise she we had to go next door.
Magnifique.
This is a good example that a good opera should be performed in a beautiful theater. The imposing and stately atmosphere of this historical building is essential.
Les toilettes hommes ne sont pas indiquées
Easy to get tickets, comfortable seats, in a great opera house. Very good refreshment facilities.
Theatre is lovely and staff were very helpful. Venue could be improved by more toilets as there are long queues during the intermission.
A grandiose, elegant building with very good acoustics. A joy.
The National Theater is overwhelming! The most beautiful theater I have ever seen!!
Traditionally excellent.
Breathtaking venue
The theatre was beautiful and worth the visit alone.
Gorgeous and Excquisite.
Very centrally located, timing and intervals well set to allow to enjoy a light supper without rushing after the fall of the curtain. Enjoy the balcony view on Vlatva to refresh attention and take a breeze glass in hand.
Cadre magnifique Facile d’accès en transport
The National Theater is a beautiful and historic venue.
We enjoyed experiencing the great opera venue in Prague.
Fantastic venue, and although we were clearly underdressed ( being tourists for few days) , we were made to feel welcome. Beautiful surroundings, perfect acoustics and helpful customer service.
Stunning venue, not much room between the rows of seats though.
One of the great world venues
The venue is historic and the seats in the box were fantastic, despite a slightly limited view; similar to many seats in the National Theatre. Thank you
Beautiful building. However, a bit more leg room would have been great.
