Händel's Susanna: A dramatic late masterpiece performed in Prague's Dvořák Hall
The oratorio Susanna belongs among the culminating works of the final years of Georg Friedrich Händel's life. This drama of Susanna’s false accusation from 1749 — in which Händel also employed strikingly dramatic features drawn from opera — was evidently a work the composer himself held in high regard, as he arranged for it to be performed again shortly before his death in 1759.
