P. I. Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker

My 1st ballet so I was really looking forward to the performance. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The dancers were elegant and the ballet was the highlight of our 4 day break in Prague over New Year!

My friend and I came to visit Prague over the New Year and wanted to see a classical ballet. Finding the location was a bit difficult but we asked someone who lives there and could help us. We were very impressed by the beautiful storytelling. In the beginning, we were confused as to which seat was ours and asked a staff member for help, which didn't help much. Afterward, we found a staff member willing to help and showed us in which section our seats were. The show was beautiful, but some dancers neglected their feet. They weren't always pointed. One of the mice wasn't on time during the trio. Other than that it was great. The emotions came through and the nutcracker as well as the mouse king were phenomenal. Great show! Thank you for having us

Very nice performance of a classic

Très sympathique à regarder, même si la scène étroite du théâtre n'est peut-être pas le lieu idéal pour un ballet.

Performers were amateurish also. Overall, poor experience for an Adult

It is not worth paying for this work for €60 per person. The theater is ugly, without any charm and the dancers are not professionals. We paid €50 to see a concert in an impressive palace, and with professionals, we think this was a joke.

The main ballerina and the young dancer doing the Russian dance parts were amazing!

I appreciate the hard work and efforts of the performers. The costumes were good, but it was such a small production, the cost of the ticket does not reflect the size or quality, meaning the ticket was too much for what was provided. I will not make the same mistake and buy full price for my 13 year old- he should have been child price as well. The second act was better. I knew the story but my children did not and they felt the first act was very confusing- I think this is something the director should know about. Given the small size of the production- might it be better to reduce the cost?

A real tourist trap……. The dancers overall were very second rate with lots of rhythmic mistakes and not coordinated together. I lost count on how many times the principal male looked to drop his partner! So many people left after interval which showed how bad the production was….. even considered this ourselves but was too polite to do this. The venue was not well advertised and took a while to find, then couldn’t take drinks in plastic cups into theatre. They only turned air conditioning on at interval therefore was excruciatingly hot in first half. Overall a terrible experience for someone who loves watching ballet and all other forms of the arts. Do not recommend booking this.

Set was disappointing, venue is old and tired, having one ballerina for multiple key parts detracted from the story. Dancers were average and often seemed to be stage acting more than dancing. Overall a disappointment

Felt like a typical tourist trap. Expensive and not worth the money A boring theatre and as a whole it felt very cheap.

The ballet performance fell short of expectations, presenting an amateurish display with costumes that leaned toward the cheesy side. The dancers lacked a professional finesse, struggling to synchronize their movements, and the overall performance felt disjointed. The stage background resembled that of a high school play, contributing to an underwhelming experience. Overall, the production lacked the polish and precision one would anticipate in a professional ballet performance.

expected a stronger story line. the link with the 1st half and 2nd half was confusing although we enjoy the second half much better. long jam and the coat area, having to charge for kids stool was ridiculous as nobody would want to take this home. it should have been more easy to borrow and return

I have seen the nutcracker many times and I would say I am a bit dissapointed in this show. I felt like several times the dancers were out of sync with each other.

The show was exceptional! All the performers were excellent and it is a show totally worth it.

What a fantastic performance, loved every minute of it. While there was no "live" music, the music fed out through the speakers was very clear and did not have any fuzz around it. The performers were outstanding and I would recommend anyone to go and watch this.

Worth the money, dancers were all very enjoyable but the prima ballerina was superb, well done, will certainly come back to Prague to see another performance

I expected a great performance - worthy the legend of Prague being the center of art & romance - though felt very let down. There was minimal investment in the decorations, stage setup and story-telling. Furthermore, possibly the worst of all, choreographies were absolutely not synchronized. The latter is, for a ballet of this level, an absolute minimum. The dancers demonstrated their passion for ballet and I'm sure they could have achieved a much higher level of choreography, though I don't feel the choreographer put a lot of effort in guiding them. A true sadness for both performers and spectators. I will not return.

Niveau de danse trés inégale chez les danseurs, costumes et décor d'un autre temps. Problème de synchronisation dans les ensembles

Nous avons passé un très bon moment en regardant ce ballet de très grande qualité avec de magnifiques danseurs.

It was cute, but not worth the price. It all looked a bit amateuristic and the dancers were not in sync. Clara and the prince were good though.

Les danseurs n'etaient pas synchro entre eux, certains ne prenaient même pas la peine de faire le mouvement dans sa totalité, il y a eu plusieurs loupés quant à la chorégraphie. De plus, les éléments du décors n'étaient pas de bonne qualité (marionnettes qui ne tiennent pas droites, casse-noisette qui n'est qu'un soldat en bois qui ne casse même pas les noisettes,...)

For a small company, the ballet was excellent. Costumes were wonderful and the child dancers extremely talented. The evening was a highlight of my trip to Prague and confirmed that The Nutcracker is a staple for Christmas entertainment.

I was expecting to see a very well organized choreography but the sync was somehow off. I believe this performance was from the substitude crew, rather than the main crew. The scene I enjoyed the most was the mouse doctor walking in to heal the mouse king. I'm sorry but it was a weak performance

The ballet was just wonderful. Well worth seeing.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Nutcracker in the intimate and charming theatre. I am a former principal ballerina from the US and I feel the production was enjoyable and well executed. The choreographer made excellent use of the space. Rose Barile

The dancers choreography was off. The lead ballerina was very good.

Our experience with ticketing and the performance was flawless. This experience was one of those few experiences that goes as planned and expected. No surprises. Performances were easy to review on line. Purchasing tickets was easy and straight forward. The actual performance was very good. The intermission of 20 minutes was appropriate. Concessions were reasonably priced. Not to say there wasn't a line for concessions but not any longer than what you might expect. I'd use Prague Ticket Office (Via Musica) again. Personally, I would like to see an appropriate dress code enacted and enforced for performances such as this. There was a range of dress level.

The performance was outstanding - all performers were great. The venue was very good . Recommend to see it

First ballet I have attended in a foreign country and found it very enjoyable. No language problem obviously. The venue was tiered well so a good view of the stage from all seats. My only complaint was that it was a bit too warm. As for the ballet/performance, great. Well worth attending if in Prague
