A Baroque gem at Dvořák Hall: Zelenka's Missa Votiva comes to Rudolfinum
Zelenka’s Missa Votiva is the most extensive of his roughly twenty Mass settings, and at the same time, a work shrouded in a veil of mystery. With extraordinary care, Zelenka invested in this fascinating composition, most likely conceived as a thanksgiving for his recovery from a serious illness, the very finest of his mastery and creative daring.
