You will hear a unique Baroque romantic organ with 50 registers, 3 manuals and 3500 pipes! The organ was built in 1733 and for its perfect music qualities and pleasing tones it is often a popular destination for prominent Czech and foreign organists.

Immerse yourself into the winding streets of the Old Town and enjoy one of the great Prague classical concerts at a beautiful Gothic church re-built into Baroque with one of the biggest organ in Prague! At St. Giles Church you can enjoy mainly organ and chamber concerts. St. Giles Church was one of the locations where Miloš Forman shot scenes of his famous film Amadeus.

St. Giles Church built in the 14th century as a cathedral was temporarily an Utrakvists church until 1626 when it was donated to the Dominican order. The Dominicans built up a large convent, in which the order has been operating until today.

The interior of St. Giles Church features artistically valuable Baroque altars, beautiful preserved confessionals and a unique organ with 50 registers, 3 manuals and 3500 pipes from 1733. The famous Baroque painter V. V. Reiner is buried here. Apart from its spiritual role, the church serves as a cultural center presenting popular concerts of classical and sacred music.

Great concert in a beautiful venue. The only disappointment was that they turned off the main lights in the church before the concert: the church is really stunning so it would have been much better to keep the lights on during the performance.

The music was, as expected, first class. To be up close with some of the greatest pieces of music was a joy!

Highly recommended. Musicians are real professionals playing with no compromise. Very good to listen to and very good to watch them playing. The program is good. We liked Chamber Ensemble a little more than organ (but this is up to your taste, of course).

The setting was beautiful. The program was perfect for a vacation evening for classical music lovers. The musicians were wonderful and the acoustics great. It was a thoroughly enjoyable concert.
