About the Český Krumlov Castle:

The castle was founded by the Vitkovec family in the first half of the 13th century. After 1302, it became the main seat of the Rozmberks. The castle was expanded several times and in the 16th century was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau.

Later, the owners of the Eggenberg and Schwarzenberg families made some Baroque modifications. Also, the chateau´s chapel was rebuilt, the masquerade hall decorated, and a new manor theatre built. The castle´s viewing tower is a nice highlight of the city.

Meeting Point:

Important:

  • Bring your ID with you
  • In the winter season, from November to the end of March, the castle is closed - so instead of visiting the castle, you're invited for a three-course lunch
