Křížovnické náměstí 2, Praha 1
St. Salvator Church is a part of the former Jesuit College of St. Clement (Klementinum) by Charles Bridge. Founded in the 16th century, it was completed in the 17th century by famous Italian architect Carlo Lurago and belongs to the most valuable early Baroque buildings in Prague. Its architecture was inspired by the main Jesuit church Il Gesu in Rome, a model for many sacred buildings in the Baroque era. Today the church belongs to the academic parish.
Tradition of organ concerts in St. Salvator Church is very long. Beautiful (recently restored) organ from the 18th century used to be played by a number of Jesuit composers who worked in the temple, but also by famous composers of 18th century such as Jan Dismas Zelenka or Jakub Jan Ryba.
Prague classical concerts in St. Salvator Church gained a great reputation for their artistic qualities. Renowned musicians in the field of early music and beautiful premises of the early Baroque church make these organ concerts a pleasant event. St. Salvator (Holy Saviour) Church is established as the first academic parish in the Czech Republic and as a categorial parish. It offers a platform for ecumenical and interreligious dialogue and is open for spiritual seekers and non-active Christians.
The church was good. The music in the great space was excellent for the audience.
Bien située cette église est un endroit idéal pour ce genre de spectacle
Good acoustic, beautiful church.
The tickets doesn’t have seats allocated, so you need to queue before to enter to be given some seats
Excellent acoustics in a historical setting.
The church is beautiful.
Maybe should make clear online how seat assignments work, or let online users choose seats.
EVEYTHIG WAS PERFECT FOR PERFORMANCE.
Il devait peu froid.
very suggestive place, suitable for the event.
The church interior was splendid and it was not crowded. Location is perfect.
Unfortunately we were not allowed in until 10minutes before the commencement of the concert, and were ushered out immediately at the finish, so there was not any time to admire the venue.
Loved the seat warmers!
Nice church, the classical baroque you expect in Prague, HEATED SEATS under your bottom!
Venue was lovely. Heated seats very welcome on a cold December evening.
The church was beautiful.
The location of this church is superb, very close to Charles Bridge and the Old Town of Prague.
Very nice church. Too bad the organ and choir are located over and behind the seating, and you cannot see the performance. A church where the organ is in the absides would be more suited.
