Zemlinsky Quartet are joined by clarinetist Michel Lethiec to perform J. Haydn, L. van Beethoven and K. Mařatka

Hear the famous Haydn´s Quartet that provided melody for the national anthems of both Austria and Germany.

  • J. Haydn: String Quartet in C Major, "Emperor", Op. 76, No. 3
  • K. Mařatka: Clarinet Quintet „Arboretum of Time“
  • L. van Beethoven: String Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 130

Founded in 1994 while the members were still students, the Zemlinsky Quaret has become a much lauded example of the Czech string quartet tradition. The Zemlinsky Quartet performs regularly in Czech Republic and abroad. 

Their rich repertoire includes more than 200 works ranging from Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Dvořák to works by contemporary composers. The members of the ensemble also perform as soloists and are individual prize-winners of several competitions.
