Acclaimed orchestra Collegium 1704 play pieces by baroque Italian masters in Rudolfinum Dvořák Hall

Celebrating the birth of Christ is an important theme in the Italian baroque music of the Advent. Especially for Neapolitan authors, the arrival of the Saviour and pastoral motifs were a source of endless inspiration. In their works, the composers often merge refined counterpoint with the influence of folk music in the Neapolitan dialect.
