Although it might not seem so at first glance, the cello and the guitar are musically similar in some ways. They have a similar tonal range, range of colors and means of expression. Moreover, when they are in the hands of real artists such as Miriam Rodriguez Brüllová and Petr Nouzovský, they can extract unexpected moods and emotions from their combination.
In the today's arrangements, the piano or basso continuo is "only" replaced by the guitar, but the lack of tonal range is amply balanced by its intimacy and nostalgic delicacy. Of course, the guitar will also be featured in Spanish folklore, and what else should an evening full of dreams have.
