Mahler´s Symphony No. 3 played by Prague Symphony Orchestra

Mahler's Third. The longest symphony in the standard repertoire. Colossus of six movements with eight French horns, two choirs and a soloist takes nearly two hours. Only an experienced pilot can sail such a ship, and Jac van Steen is this pilot for the Prague Symphony - he has already played with them Mahler´s Second and Fourth symphony. The Third symphony will also be performed by Jac's compatriot, one of the most important singers of Mahler's repertoire, Christianne Stotijn. We will hear in the Smetana Hall what "tell flowers in the meadows, forest animals, humans, angels and love", as are called the movements of the Symphony.

The concert is being held under the auspices of H. E. Mr. Eduard W. V. M. Hoeks, Ambassador of the Netherlands in the Czech Republic
