Where to go?
||September 23, 2023 | 11:00 (Sat)
||Municipal House - Smetana Hall
The eminent Czech organist will present two important figures of Czech music - Alois Hába and Jan Hanuš,
followed by the opulent symphony by the king of French organists Charles-Marie Widor. Yes, the king, for at the age of twenty-five he became organist at the Saint-Sulpice Church in Paris, thus occupying the most prestigious organ throne in France, where he reigned for a full 64 years. The Symphony No. 5 is truly royal, for its last movement often crowns royal weddings: Prince William and Princess Catherine could tell the story.
- ALOIS HÁBA
Fantasia Op. 75a „Te Deum Laudamus“
- JAN HANUŠ
Suita lirica Op. 39
- CHARLES-MARIE WIDOR
Symphony No. 5 in F minor Op. 42 No. 1
Jaroslav TŮMA | organ
