Poems set to music written in Terezín concentration camp

Poems will be read in Czech and English

Lenka Lichtenberg, b. Hartlová, grew up in Prague. This Canadian-Czech singer and songwriter returns to her hometown with the Czech premiere of the program Thieve of Dreams (Zloděj snů), for which she recently won the Canadian Juno Award (parallel to the American Grammys).

The project is based on poems written by her grandmother Anna Hana Friesová, imprisoned in Terezín, which Lenka Lichtenberg discovered in her mother's estate in 2017, and which she set to music together with other female composers. The accompanying group will include Czech multi-instrumentalist and singer Mili Janatková, who also illustrated the album with her drawings, Canadian pianist and singer Fern Lindzon, and also Canadian violinist Jessica Deutsch.
