Borsodi Blues Collective (HUN)
The band's history goes back to mid-2000s, when Lez Borsodi left a band (at that time it was one of the most well known groups of the Hungarian underground scene) and created his band using his own name: Borsodi Blue. The professionals responded well and quickly to this new, exciting-sounding orchestra and Hungary’s finest musicians joined them in different sessions.
The first EP (Hit the road and live the blues) was released in 2006. The same year they were the warm-up band (with great success) before the concert of Joe Bonamassa in Budapest. After this concert Bonamassa and his bassist Carmine Rojas both commended the band. The next LP (Moonshine And Wine) was released in 2011 and received great professional critics.
Ley was mentioned in a famous Hungarian journal mentioning as one of the leading Hungarian guitarists. Meanwhile, two of the members went abroad, so during the following years, a trio playing music was formed. They played in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Serbia, but never in West-Europe.
Since 2011 the writer of their lyrics has been Little G. Weevil (International Blues Challenge winner, Blues Music Award nominee). A new album was created with him in 2015 in collaboration with a young singer Jonathan Andelic, but has not been released yet – probably some of these songs will appear on the new 2017 CD.
The concert has two times 15 minutes intermission or one time 20 minutes intermission.
The jazz club is smoking area.
