The delightful Royal Czech Orchestra and three of Prague's most acclaimed soloists present rich program full of classical music gems. The concert takes place at St. Salvator Church, the main church of Klementinum complex.

Our experience:

The musicians took us on an impressive tour of the musical seasons. The pleasant sound of the Baroque organ has excelled in Bach's compositions, the exquisitely coordinated chamber orchestra portrayed all the layers of emotions, and the beautiful singing of Marie Fajtová was the cherry on the cake.

We recommend you to come to the venue 20 min before the concert and exchange the ticket for the assigned seat ticket at the box office of the church located by the entrance on the right.

Visit Prague classical concert in Klementinum St. Salvator Church by Charles Bridge

St. Salvator Church is a part of the former Jesuit College of St. Clement (Klementinum) by Charles Bridge. Founded in the 16th century, it was completed in the 17th century by famous Italian architect Carlo Lurago and belongs to the most valuable early Baroque buildings in Prague. Its architecture was inspired by the main Jesuit church Il Gesu in Rome, a model for many sacred buildings in the Baroque era. Today the church belongs to the academic parish.

Tradition of organ concerts in St. Salvator Church is very long. Beautiful (recently restored) organ from the 18th century used to be played by a number of Jesuit composers who worked in the temple, but also by famous composers of 18th century such as Jan Dismas Zelenka or Jakub Jan Ryba.

Prague classical concerts in St. Salvator Church gained a great reputation for their artistic qualities. Renowned musicians in the field of early music and beautiful premises of the early Baroque church make these organ concerts a pleasant event. St. Salvator (Holy Saviour) Church is established as the first academic parish in the Czech Republic and as a categorial parish. It offers a platform for ecumenical and interreligious dialogue and is open for spiritual seekers and non-active Christians.

Regret to say I was rather dissatisfied with selection. Vivaldi for Christmas selection? Come on, you can find something better for sure.. Silent Night in german language? Why? You are in Prague, so go for czech. So, in general, if you are looking for quality, go somewhere else, this is show for tourists.

The Silent Night carol is a very popular carol and comes originally from Austria. Lyrics were written by Joseph Mohr in the 19th century therefore you listened to the version in the original language. Hopefully we´ll please you next Christmas with a better program of the concerts. Hodnocení dávám průměrem jako dobré. Ovšem výkon umělců skvělý a organizace špatná. Celý koncert nám za zády plakalo malé dítě a velice rušilo.

Výkony interpretů byly výborné, Výběr díla ale dosti komerční - osvědčené fláky - chyběla tomu trochu duchovní atmosféra. Krátký výběr českých koled na konec byla úlitba adventní době. Celkově tedy provedení výborné, ale celkový dojem nepříliš silný. Takový hudební "český trdelník s jahodami". Neurazí, ale za dva týdny už si nevzpomenete.

Dobrý den, koncert byl krásný, i když už bych sem tam změnila repertoár na více vánoční tématiku neb na všech možných podobných akcích nejen vánočních běží Vivaldi. Už se z toho stává téměř odrhovačka, i když si to Vivaldi nezaslouží.

Very nice concert, the page to book didn' t react very fast, so we clicked too much I think. We needed some efforts. As soon as the tickets were booked everything was easy to do. We will use this page also next time and recommend it! Thank you!

This was an excellent concert. The venue was amazingly beautiful, the performers were excellent, and the timing was perfect (60 minutes at 7:30pm) for our family to enjoy the music before dinner. Definitely a highlight of our visit to Prague.
