Founded in 920, St. George Basilica is the oldest preserved church within the Prague Castle. Come to a chamber classical music concert combining pleasure of beautiful music with special atmosphere of Romanesque architecture - pure and meditative.
Classical concert in St. George Basilica can be also a part of your Prague Castle visit. Today´s appearance of the Basilica dates from the 12th century, the Baroque facade was built in the 17th century.
It is one of the most beautiful Romanesque monuments in the Czech Republic and a place of great importance – the Basilica served as a burial ground to the royal Premyslid family.
The Romanesque interior of the Basilica with preserved original frescoes and captivating atmosphere frequently hosts classical music concerts.
Amazing concert but venue was freezing & I noticed some elderly people had to leave early.
What a fabulous experience in a unique venue with excellent acoustics. The hour flew by too quickly however the memory lingers on. Highly recommend this experience
The music and the artists were excellent. Regards
One of the most enjoyable hours I have ever spent. Wonderful.
The mjusicians were obviously beautifully talented. Having been a part of a musical emsemble myself, it is easy for the music to be played faster and faster, without being aware of how quickly we were playing. Thus, I felt that all the pieces played were sped up, which diminished my enjoyment of the concert. Also, the Basilica, though beautiful, was very hot. A fan was needed to ensure the audience's comfort. Thank you for offering this music !
World class performers.
I was totally immersed in the music. Perfect performance.
The concert was absolutely a joy!! I love it.
The concert was disappointing. First of all, Vivaldi should have been played with minimum double or triple number of musicians, instead of 6. For the high price of the tickets it could have been solved. The sounds were often false, maybe because of the extreme cold air in the church. The concert reminded me to an amateur event in a school, while the musicians were officially professionals. Pachelbel was played almost in double speed, showing if the artist would like to go home as soon as possible.
Entendre quelques uns de ces airs favoris superbement interprétés ,quel plaisir ,encore toutes mes félicitations aux artistes
Excellent was the athmosphere in the wonderful church, also the violin solist (Vivaldi). The interpretation of Pachelbel was poor (too fast) and gave us the feeling of business, not art enthusiasm. Mozart was ok. The friendliness of the inletting people could be better.
Beautiful concert in a beautiful setting. Wonderful way to experience Prague Castle.
Beautiful setting and wonderful music that was played at a very high standard. Thank you.
Excellent location and length of performance.
Wonderful performance in a beautiful Church. But too cold for one hour staying in february with no heating. Unbearable.
Absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity to attend this event. It was so beautiful listening to the live music. A good mix and well worth the hour of our time.
Fabulous. The musicians were fantastic, such beautiful music. Would you send me the names of the pieces that were played that night? (September 9, 2017). email@example.com. Thank you
It was a lovely performance!
It would have been better to be able to view the players more easily
The electronic ticket has to be verified manually by another person, this was quite inconvenient since the place in the queue is lost.
The concert was very good, but why not have an introduction, so people know it is starting. The venue meant that the orchestra were some distance from the audience, so there was a bit of a disconnect. We were five rows back, and mainly just see the lead violinist. This, I think, spoiled the performance somewhat, even though the music and acoustics were excellent.
Amazing concert, but too expansive!
