The Klementinum Mirror Chapel was built in 1725 most likely by František Maxmilian Kaňka. The impressive installations of Baroque mirrors on the ceiling make the chapel unparalelled worldwide. Together with gilded stuccos of Bernardo Spinetti, marble panelling and ceiling frescoes by Jan Hiebl, these mirrors create great artistic value of the interior.
Listen to the chamber classical music or even jazz music in an opulently decorated ceremonial space. The Mirror Chapel, originally dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, is a unique sanctuary and one of the churches of the former Jesuit college, Prague Klementinum.
The chapel had been repeatedly desecrated and consecrated until it became a Prague classical concert and exhibition hall in 1936. The Mirror Chapel houses two precious Baroque organs and classical concerts held here are a unique and unforgettable experience.
Úžasné místo , zpěvačka, varhaník i všichni ostatní. Podařený výběr repertoáru.
Opravdu jsme si to užili.
Uzasne predstaveni. Krasna kaple a krasna muzika. Vrele doporucuji.
Příjemná neformální atmosféra, varhany pozvedly vystoupení kvarteta, skvělé sólové housle.
We booked this at the last minute for our trip to Prague as a birthday treat for my Dad (80). So glad we did. It was the highlight of the trip. The music and musicians were superb. The concert was just the right amount of time and the content completely engaging, the time flew by.
Our only negative was that there was a very young babe in arms there and it cried and screamed quite a lot throughout which did spoil the atmosphere. (also the musicians were finding it distracting) It may be that an age limit for children could be useful to avoid this.
The setting and the music was excellent, but what spoiled it all was that there were two small children that obviously didnt keep quiet.
If the parents do not have the sense not to take them to this type of event, the organization should not let them in or request them to leave if they are not quiet.
Ave Maria with a toddler squeaking was not whar I expected
Beautiful music and venue. I highly recommend!
Venue was beautiful and set the perfect atmosphere. Singer was poetic as were the musicians that accompanied her. It was a lovely evening and a perfect festive event. Better than I could have hoped for.
