It was a magical concert.
There are no proper words to describe it. The voices of these men and women took me to another dimension.
Beautiful, powerful, ethereal...
The orchestra played well, but the conductor did not pay enough attention to the balance between the orchestra and the flute & violin soloists in the first half.
We booked box seats. We were put in a box with 5 people barely big enough for all of us to fit in. The theater was very hot. We ended up leaving before the first intermission. Very, very, disappointing.
A very good performance of Carmen by the Czech Opera. We had a great evening. Both singers and orchestra were outstanding

We heard a varied programme of well known pieces with a small group of musicians and two opera singers. The standard of the performers was very good. We particularly enjoyed the Vivaldi Four Seasons. No introductions were made of each piece which we think would have improved the proceedings. Instead printed programmes were handed out as you went into the hall.
We really enjoyed this performance of Romeo & Juliet. The orchestra and the dancers were first class: as good as any we’ve seen before. The State Opera building is smaller than some we’ve visited but it’s very ornate and plush inside, covered in gilt with frescos on the ceiling. We sat on the 2nd row in the stalls: a bit expensive but the view was wonderful. People in the audience had dressed up for the occasion so jeans and T-shirts would look out of place!
Hudební skladby se nám převážně líbily. Ocenili jsme možnost díky instalovanému plátnu sledovat virtuozitu pana varhaníka na detailních záběrech.

Excellent show with exceptional performers!
Disappointing that it lasted only 60mins. The musicians were very good but did not interact with the audience. I much preferred the concert I saw in Vienna.

The best event of my life. The performance was spectacular and I am sure I will repeat it again when I visit Prague. I really recommend to try this one.

It was very interesting to hear an organ play live especially the pipe organ at this church. Wasn't very familiar with the selections but it was well varied.

This was a really beautiful concert. It was extremely well organised and great value for money, in my opinion. It was an inspiring and uplifting way to start our final evening in Prague.
Some musicians were outstanding, others a bit less.
Watching the artists perform was as entertaining as listening to their music. It was obvious they loved making music.

Koncert byl moc hezký, co se mi nelíbilo, byla organizace vstupenek. Vstupenky jsem měla vytisklé z internetu, ale před vchodem na koncert mi blyo sděleno pořadatelem (asi cizinec, neuměl česky, naštěstí umím anglicky), že si mám vytisklou vstupenku vyměnit za papírovou. Zejména pro cizince to byl zmatek a zdržení, nepochopitelné v dnešní době, kdy papírové vstupenky už skoro nejsou potřeba. Dostali jsme vstupneku bez označení sedadla, následně jsme na koncert byli usazeni na skládací židle. Argumentovala jsem, že na původní vstupence je napsáno, že místa si v daném sektoru můžeme rezervovat stylem kdo dřív přijde, ten dřív mele. Bylo mi sděleno, že to tak není. Nicnéně nakonec to pán vyřešil měli jsme vlastně ve výsledku lepší místa než jsme měli mít, ale příště bych si toto raději ušetřila, jasné označení sedadel už na vstupence a zrušení nutnosti mít další vstupenku na pokladně přímo v kostele by bylo fajn.
Très bel endroit et très acoustique. Les musiciens et là soprano mous ont enchantées. Nous avons préféré la partie classique néanmoins, les musiques Gershwin et autres modernes, ainsi que les chants juifs ont été très bien interprétés.
Rahvalaulude, -tantsude ja pillimänguga õhtusöök oli väga hoogne ja lõbus. Kõik oli suurepäraselt korraldatud, alates toidu (kodune) ja joogi serveerimisest kuni programmini välja.

J’ai adoré et j’ai été bouleversée par l’excellent Mozart - acteur shakespearien qui arrache les larmes d’émotions!!’ Bravo à lui ! Il remet en place le condescendant Forman dans son Amadeus ! Et évidemment à tous - musiciens et chanteurs. Bravo !

We learned a lot about Praha and its history. Our guide was an enthusiastic teller of facts and stories. He was kind (like we seem to experience from almost all the people in Prague), shared our music taste and showed kind humor. The musical performance was a selection of baroque and romantic highlights, and the musicians and the singer were marvelous! Finally, the visit to the local restaurant was preceeded with a walk - and more information - along the Moldau. The food was fine, and our guide knows how it's prepared, since he does the cooking at home. With love we understand from his talking about the food. So all 5 stars for the whole event.

Premier opéra pour nous avec un excellent tarif mais placés très haut. Notre connaissance préalable nous a permis de suivre le texte en français ou à contrario en anglais. Aucune vérification de la tenue vestimentaire. Il y avait beaucoup de baskets !

Really enjoyed the performance. Lots of strong voices and stage presence. Loved the sets and the imagery overlays. Performers playing the Countess and Barbarina we're particularly good. Found myself rivited to the performance.

Tyto vstupenky jsem koupil pro pár přátel, kteří mě navštívili z mexického Monterrey. Z koncertu byli nadšeni a velmi se jim líbil, přičemž se zmínili o kvalitě vystoupení.

Great variety of music including some favourites from Dvorak and Smetana to Gershwin and Bernstein. Strings, brass and singing were great. I had booked on the internet but I didnt see a programme that mentioned each piece. One piece involed just cello and double-bass. It was interesting, but I dont know what it was.
This was an excellent and very entertaining interpretation of the opera. Of course the music is magical, but the voices were also excellent - bravo Figaro! and so was the acting - it was a great production and a great cast. I loved the set, particularly the garden, and the housing estate. The orchestra was wonderful, and the non-orchestra music between the scenes was a great addition.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The production was very good and I really enjoyed it. The dancers were super fit and gave it their best.
Well done I will be back again.
This was an excellent production, a minimalist more modern setting, but very well done. Beautiful singing by all the main voices. A highlight of my visit here in Prague!

Krasny program, umelci byli velmi dobri a personal moc prijemny. Urcite zase prijdeme.
Mně i manželovi se líbil výběr skladeb, proto jsme si zakoupili vstupenky. Provedení všech skladeb nás nadchlo. Byli jsme poprvé na takovém koncertu v kostele v Praze . V Kolíně chodíme celkem pravidelně. Chceme navštívit další koncerty v tomto kostele.
Varhanní festival-rakouský večer. Hodnotím 6 z 10. Podle mě výběr hudby nevyvážený, velice nesourodé skladby. Sedět v kostele těch 80 min bylo utrpení. Ty dřevěné lavice kde se vám ozdobný rám zarývá do zad a lavice tlačí… To si hudbu nevychutnáte…to bych radši celou dobu stál. Na závěr koncertu jsem si stoupl a chtěl si prohlédnout oltář a nějaká baba na mě syčela abych si sedl…
Bohužel ten krásný, starobylý zvuk varhan si už mnoho neužijeme…oprava má stát 50 000000. Tak si nachystejme portmonku.

Nous avons été très déçues par la qualité du spectacle et du décor. Le niveau n'est pas à la hauteur de celui des ballets que nous avons l'habitude de voir en France. De plus, la version condensée rend l'histoire difficilement compréhensible.
Great atmosphere in the Spanish synagogue. The concert was nice--not great, but certainly enjoyable. One of the musicians seemed to play with a bit more personality and energy than the others, which made it more enjoyable.

Skvělé komorné prostředí, úžasné výkony všech vystupujících a bezproblémový průběh aktivity od platby po realizaci. Doporučuji, s manželkou jsme si návštěvu moc užili.
Celkově krásný zážitek, pouze jediný komentář - zahrané skladby nebyly dle programu. Vynechaná jedna skladba, na kterou se můj syn zrovna těšil a nahrazena něčím neurčitým. To bylo trochu zklamání. Program byl měl odpovídat tomu, co se zahraje.
Trubka pod chrámovou klenbou. Úžasný zážitek, spojení trubky a varhan je naprosto úchvatné a oba interpreti navíc podali velice pěkný a soustředěný výkon.

The show was barbaric. Great musicians. We really enjoyed the show. The place is good and has a good atmosphere. The only bad thing about the place is that there was a lack of ventilation, it was very hot and so hot that my husband felt bad. It is what in my view would improve. put air conditioning! For the rest all 10 points

Le lieu est magique et l'accord était parfait avec la musique, la soliste a été ovationnée ainsi que les musiciens. Le choix varié des musiques était ambitieux mais parfaitement exécuté.
Tereza and other musicians were excellent. The venue was very intimate. The only negative was the seats were not very comfortable after awhile and air conditioning was not sufficient to keep it comfortable. The room was rather warm and muggy.

Concert was good, but we booked seats row 4-7 and got there 15mins before start and although there were free seats in those rows, someone had written name tags such that none were available. Those people didn't show up but we had already found a less comfortable seat a few rows farther back.
Advice - get there really early, or disregard the name tags.

Úžasný koncert. Cena pro dospělého odpovídající. Mrzí mě, že se asi nepočítá s návštěvou dětí. Cena stejná jako za dospělého je odrazující. Škoda, naučily by se chodit na koncerty i další děti, ne jen můj nadaný pětiletý vnuk, který ani nehlesl nadšením.

Concert quasiment privé, nous étions 3 à 14h. Accueil chaleureux et notre hôte très prévenant. Uniquement quelques toiles en exposition. Vins délicieux, charcuteries et fromages très appréciés. Être aussi près des musiciennes est rare. C'était notre 1er concert de musique classique et nous avons beaucoup aimé.
The music and location are beautiful. It would be wonderful if we could actually see the performers perform, even if on a video screen.
Na varhanním koncertu jsem byla poprvé. Bylo to hezké, zajímavé. Možná jsme trocha tápali, kdy tleskat u kratších skladeb. Určitě příště půjdu znova.
A jedna hezká příhoda. Přisedla jsem si k mamince s dvěma dětma. Byla to mezinárodní rodina. Holčička se nemohla dočkat hraní a zpívání. Po cca deseti minutách usnula a spala celý koncert. Klučina vydržel asi půlku koncertů a pak šel za tatínkem a taky usnul. On jediný byl připraven tleskat po každé skladbě. Děti cca 5 a 2 roky. Takže i malé děti můžou zvládnout cokoliv, ale musejí mít správnou výchovu.
Ráda bych se zeptala, jak je to s místami na sezení. Vstupenek se prodává víc, nebo vše k sezení. Děkuji

Příjemný večer se skvělou muzikou a vynikajícím jídlem v krásném prostředí
Celkový dojem z večera byl skvělý. Jedna z mala umeleckych produkci, kde vysoka cena opravdu odpovida kvalite. Hudební čísla úžasná, zpěvačky i hudebníci předvedli skvostný výkon. Líbilo se mi mimo jiné jejich nadšení, které pak předávali dal na diváky. Večer byl take dobře poskládany co do délky představení a přestávek na jídlo. Občerstvení- kvalitni, velmi chutne i pekne naservirovane, ale musím říct, že složení menu mě zklamalo. Byt privitana mezi dveřmi u takového eventu informací, že hlavním chodem je řízek, mě překvapilo nemile. Myslím, že řízek a buchticky se sodo jsou na pozdní večerní hodiny těžké jídlo, navíc mi to k jazzovému večeru neladilo. To je ale jediná vítka k jinak perfektním večeru, který jsme si s manželem velmi užili a určitě to nebyla naše poslední návštěva.

The venue was stunning. Orchestra did a wonderful job. The youngest ballerina was precious.
Představení jsme si užili po všech stránkách. Nádherné prostředí, výborná kvalita zvuku a hlavně krásné skladby velmi dobře zpracované všemi účinkujícími. Odcházeli jsme s pocitem uspokojení, klidu a inspirace.

The Jazz evening was a fine event! The Band was great, but it wasn't a Tribute to Louis Armstrong. Instead of Louis Armstrong they played a lot of other jazz standards. The technichian had a bad evening, because he disturbed a wonderful Sax melody by playing another audio music.
We enjoyed this concert in this wonderful atmosphere of Reduta Jazz club.

Nádherný prostor a vynikající varhanistka ze Slovenska. Repertoár byl velmi hezký a přizpůsobený prostředí, ve kterém se koncert odehrával. Zvolené skladby byly technicky náročné a bravurně zvládnuté ze strany varhanistky.
Pokud sedíte na koncertě a do toho zapadá slunce a vše se odehrává v katedrále, kde hraje varhanní hudba, nic hezčího už Vás potkat nemůže.
Krásný koncert, rozhodně bych ho doporučila. Pro mě hudba znamená levitaci, kdy s prvním tónem odlétám. Zapomenu na bolest fyzickou a hlavně i psychickou. Je mi 74 let a jsem vdova. Bylo to krásné pohlazení. Děkuji moc.

It was extremely captivating. The swan lake is a master piece, and It was danced so extremely well. I enjoyed my time at the theater extremely.

Acoustic could be better….
Wonderful musicians, thoughtfully created program (classical pop music / short pieces selections easy for even least prepared audience). I thought it was a great event for a concert targeted for tourists. Two young people in my company were new to live classical music, and they enjoyed the event, too, and will probably want to discover / listen to more classical music thanks to this live music event.
I have been to a few concerts in Prague and they were fine, but this one is at an entirely different level. Outstanding musicians and soprano. They all worked together really well. Highly recommended.

Although a great opportunity for young performers the quality difference between the performers was too big. Some where good but some were not ready yet for these sort of great opera’s.

the trumpeter didn't play very well. He did not have the rythm.I expected more. the soprano sang beautifully, but very loudly in this room.

Breathtaking. This performance was a highlight of our trip to Prague. The chamber orchestra, organist, and vocalist were outstanding, and the Mirror Hall setting is unrivaled. It was truly a magical experience, and I recommend anyone considering attending to do so.
The beautiful Spanish Synagogue was a great setting for the Gershwin recital. The fabulous musicians performed a very entertaining hour's concert. My only negative comment is the abrupt manner of a member of staff in the Synagogue shortly after the concert to insist we leave immediately when we were enjoying a quick look at some of the exhibits displayed in the venue
The soprano at last night’s concert was absolutely superb. She raised the level of the entire concert.

Event was great but a little overpriced!
The musicians were excellent. The singer was just an example. However, the echo of the church did not help on the quick changes of the music, specially in pieces like "the four seasons" where the fast music from violins demand for almost no echo.

Outstanding performance! Music selection was perfect for someone who is not thoroughly involved in classical music. All pieces were immediately accessible and the vocalist was wonderful surprise. Extremely talented. All musicians were excellent. The acoustics in Spanish Synagogue were the best I have experienced in a small venue. This performance is highly recommended!
The program consisted of a very nice mix of pieces from different classical composers - not as we thought Vivaldis Four seasons

U skladby kde fotit a tocit mohli to vypadalo jako by prijel zajezd z vesnice, navic fotit telefonem s bleskem je opravdu uzitecne akorat na to aby oslnovali vystupujici. Jsme proste narod za vsechny prachy.

The music was good, and the band was awesome. The food was good for the price. The only issue is that you cannot choose your seat ahead of time. I recommend calling the company or emailing them to choose your seat.
We went to two concerts in Prague and another in Vienna, but this was our favorite. The venue was beautiful with leg room for my husband and toilet facilities on the same floor. The guest violinist and cellist were grand, but it was extra special to hear Dvorak -- a Czech composer's music in a Czech music hall was a trip highlight.
We were surprised with the outstanding quality of the presentation, but uncomfortable with the ventilation and temperature of the venue. It needs improvement!!!

The venue, the talent, the selections- all fantastic! We really enjoyed this program of greatest hits from classical music in a beautiful room that sent you back in time.
For a one-hour concert, the selection of musical pieces was good. The performers were, as a whole, between average to better-than-average. The reason my rating is "Average" and not a higher one is the nature of the compression of the pieces used in order to fit all the pieces into the one-hour program, and the rushed tempi used. For example, while not much violence was done to Vivaldi's Spring and Summer movements of "The Seasons," a normally paced performance of Vltava normally runs about 12 minutes, and in this event, this lovely piece was badly compressed and rushed.
The flute and viola was good, but the pianist was surprisingly poor - i heard prague is famous for its high level classic performance but really? She made mistakes repeatedly - not just one or two notes. During the Turkish March, we forgot one phrase so she had to play back.
The music was satisfactory, while as a one-hour performance, it was pricey and may as well start earlier.
This was an absolute joy to do in Prague. Tickets were very affordable for excellent musicianship in a gorgeous venue!
This is an awesome museum and gives a great history of the Czech Republic. The classical concert in the palace ballroom was fantastIc and a highlight of our trip to Prague!

The performers were fantastic and the set and lighting design were great. However I found the costumes offensive and insensitive to the culture that they represent. I don’t think it’s appropriate to use traditional wear as such
The program / selections were thoughtfully selected and presented excellently. The pace of the overall concert was very good, and alternating between the vocal pieces and violin soloist gave it nice variation. I understand that some music is selected for popular appeal so pieces like Bolero are included; and while not my favourite, the selection was performed very well. The Smetana was a nice surprise, as I was unfamiliar with the piece. I would recommend this event, and wouldn't hesitate to attend again myself.
This was a really intimate concert in a small but beautiful church. The programme was excellent and diverse, though more pieces by Czech composers would have, perhaps, made it even better. The quality of the playing was outstanding, as were the acoustics of the church. It was a really special evening.
Mahler's 6th symphony is something that every person must hear and experience at least once in their life, either as an audience or as an interpreter. It is a grandiose work, the performance of which involves a large orchestra.
It was amazing— Carmen is one of my favorite operas! I also loved the costumes and the set design!

Výběr skladeb i provedení hodnotíme jako dobré. Velmi nás rozladilo tleskání většiny publika mezi jednotlivými větami, používání mobilu během produkce, přesedávání některých, i když orchestr hraje. Tohle jsem na jiných koncertech nezažila. Někteří na konci spěchali prostřední uličkou, i když potlesk ještě neskončil. Bylo by možná dobré oznámit na začátku vypnutí mobilů, jak je obvyklé jinde, i v divadlech.
Jsme dlouholetí abonenti koncertů v Rudolfinu, ale toto byl pro nás “ohromující” zážitek.
Whilst the concert was enjoyable, i felt that there was little engagement with the audience. It would have been good to have a brief introduction to the players and maybe just an introduction to each piece. Especially as the players are behind the audience for half of the performance. I know language woyld nake this difficult, but iI think it would help to make the audience feel more a part of the performance.
This was definitely the highlight of Prague! I mean, how could anyone go wrong by watching a brilliant opera with ingenious music performed IN the operahouse it opened in 1787 with Mozart himself? Just standing in the building gave me goosebumps! Now add the outstanding score and story and you will have the best evening of your life!
Most people dressed up, the only way to see a grand opera – go and enjoy yourself!

Seeing The Barber of Seville is a must for everyone who likes culture, but I was disappointed in the mise-en-scène of the opera, especially the fact the opera was taking place in another century/decade. The costumes were not from the 17th century. The singing and acting were good, and some parts definitely made me laugh. The fact we had seen Don Giovanni at the Estate Theatre the night before probably affected our opinion of this opera, since nothing can quite compare to that experience.

This was a very good production of a little known 20th Century comic work with lushly romantic music, and a strong cast of singer/actors. I enjoyed discovering it, and respected the company for not just doing the usual operas.
The last time I was here I saw an excellent Magic Flute. I would certainly return.

I was at the concert with my music teacher and I must say we were surprised by their playing skills. It was wonderfull and we both really enjoyed it. The whole atmosphere was breathtaking. Highly recommended concert.

The production was tired and felt dated. Over use of old video projections, repetitive choreography. And weak ending with the leads upstage centre over the trap - ending on video projection. The venue made up for the lackluster show.
The production design, the singers, and the orchestra were all outstanding! The emotions and the fairy tale aspects of Rusalka were conveyed beautifully, and it was truly special to get to see a performance of this particular opera while visiting Prague.

The usher made us check my guests blazer and short jacket. These were in case the venue was chilly. The venue was quite warm - but these were not overcoats- they were laying over their knees.
Patrons behind us brought in those cheap water bottles that crackled when you hold them. I don't think food or drink should be allowed in the theater.

My wife and I thought the performance was marvellous in every way. The dancing was first-rate; the sets were stunning; and the choreography was superbly fitted to the music. This is an exceptionally beautiful ballet! Why Titania ever fell in love with Onegin in the first place is a question, certainly, and one that doesn’t reflect very favourably on her character; but in this way I suppose we simply have to accept that the plot is somewhat dated, a thing of its time.

Musically my wife and I thought the performance was first-rate, except towards the end when we are supposed to hear the knocking on the door, but don’t; and when the chorus is too far in the background to be heard as the flames (non-existent in this production) spring up around Don Giovanni.
The main problem with this production from my point of view is that the director goes out of the way to make Don Giovanni physically repellent. He is bloodied in the first scene, and keeps an increasingly bloody shirt on throughout the production. If you do not make Don Giovanni a really seductive character, you do a great disservice to women, it seems to me – it makes them all seem as if they are easily fooled and interested in nothing but sex. Don Giovanni is morally repellent; but he should be physically very attractive from start to finish.
I thought that the rising and falling of the blue curtain that symbolises barriers between what is on the scene, what is behind the scene – otherwise known as “obscene” – was both literally and intellectually mechanical, and finally uninteresting.
The drums were too loud, and not so good. The food was below average.
The sax and piano were very good, but too low in the mix.
Costumes, choreography and atrezo was excellent. So was the music and acting. However, the subtitles are not well synchronised (and missing parts of the dialogues) and it is hard to follow the show. It is a pity that we did not enjoyed as much as we could if the subtitles were good
Less organ music would be better. Chamber orchestra seemed a bit lacking in enthusiasm.
Choose some more unique music, - it didn't feel like most people wanted to hear things they had heard a million times.

The music, the singers, costumes and decoration were really first class
Loved the concert and the professionalism of the musicians. It was our last night in Prague and we had done the tour of the Jewish quarter that day so it was even more meaningful to hear the music into that amazing place. The acoustics were amazing as well.

Stunning musicianship and acoustics. After the concert I researched the musicians, whose names are not provided. The leader if the quartet was superb and I would have loved information about their identities. On later research I learned they are from the Prague Symphony and Czech Philharmonic, and the ensemble has existed for centuries. Sn unforgettable musical experience.

Excellent concert in a beautiful old church. Quintessential classical compositions that transcend centuries, and were even familiar to my young adult sons who had never been to a symphony of classical music.
Make sure you take any tickets purchased online to the ticket booth to the right of the main entrance to obtain your “real” tickets, so you don’t have to go stand in another line and miss good seats when you get to the front of the main line up.

The singing was very good although not world-class and the production very interesting. Don Giovanni is usually serious but the opera is called a drama giocosa. Mozart even called it an opera buffa in his notes.
This was a good show and an excellent venue. It seemed like an original jazz club of the 1950s variety. The music was very good - vocalist, piano, sax, and bass. The seating is strange in that most seats face the walls, and not the stage, but it works. A small jazz club.

Very nice concert in beautiful church. Excellent musicians and a very nice program popular, but not mainstream. We loved Toccata & Fuga i D.minor on the organ! We were not so many spectators, but good and appreciating atmosphere!

The Play itself was very good. Unfortunately, the experience for English speaking attendees was a bit affected by the fact that the subtitles were not always in sync with the dialogue, and sometimes there were sentences not translated at all.

The skill of the performers was outstanding. This was a highlight of my trip to Prague. I was only expecting a little string quartet, but to have the organist performing and also the opera singer elevated the event past my expectations.

The chamber orchestra was superb! They filled the room with an incredible sound. And the singer also had a lovely voice. All very professional!
The only thing to criticize is that the songs with the singer felt a bit rushed since the lady came on stage for just one song, left again to appear again for another song after a while. In total she sang three songs if i remember correctly. I guess I would have preferred to listen to her singing in one go.

I was amazed with the quality of the production. The screens with English summaries and cast info were helpful. Do not plan on sitting in a box location if you are a large person as it would be extremely uncomfortable. Three chairs are placed side by side with no leg room. You would have to remove a chair, if possible.

This kind of event is not my cup of tea. But I must render hommage to the quality of dancers, costume design (outstanding), and also - in a lesser extent - to the choreography
Theatre, acoustics, chorus, and orchestra very nice. Superb costume designs and choreography, simply superb. My congratulations do Messrs. Hanecka and Dvorak. So why did I rate the event just "average"? Because, and unfortunately, the two main characters simply are NOT up to the job. They lack charisma, physique du rôle and the demanded quality as singers, specially Ms. Weissova. Pity, because they spoiled an otherwise impeccable spectacle.

The show itself was very good. But the sound (music) was too loud and did not fit to the visual show. Primarily those phases, where slow and "silent" passages were shown did absolutely not fit to the very loud music.

I would have rated it excellent except for one thing which I'll get to later. What a superb production! Orchestra, singers, art design - perfect! One thing that really annoyed me throughout was the stupid and utterly addition of a character who is not in the libretto. His annoying interruptions of dialogue are not in the libretto. He performed stupid antics distracting from and upstaging the otherwise excellent performers. I don't know whose idea it was, but it was a very very bad idea. I like opera performances to RESPECT the composer and librettist. Not add stupid and self-indulgent elements that serve only as ego trips by the director.

I don't know much about music so I can only tell from an amateur point of view. I loved this concert. And the Chapel was very pretty. An amazing moment.
Excellent edition, particularly the quality of the singers. Relatively austere production, which seems to be the way opera is presented nowadays.
Overall a very good night at the opera and money well spent.

It was a perfect concert for our family of four. We have children ages 8 and 11 and I wanted them to have an experience with classical that was accessible. We achieved that goal and my wife and I had a great time. The staff was pleasant, even when my eight-year old needed to go to the WC (I know, right???). I honestly considered going two nights later for another concert.

The musicians were skillful but definitely phoning it in.
It had everything, a cozy warm atmosphere with room for a perfect amount og guests. The band was professional and played from their own repituare but also from our wishes.
We ordered the three course menu and was very satisfied. On top of all, it was a very pleasant trip on the river with nice view.
We would like to come back and strongly recommend it!!

Musicians played with spirit. Concert was enjoyable. Venue was beautiful.
The Czech Symphony Orchestra and soloists did the Dvořák Stabat Mater with utter sensitivity and verve. The soloists delivered movingly exquisite performances. The concert exceeded all expectations. It made my visit to Prague memorable.
I think it was expensive for what it was. Bad chairs and I couldn't see all the musicians.

We really enjoyed this concert! All songs well known, beautifully played. Although do wish they would slow down with some of them :) the singer was really impressive.

Lovely show with an enthousiastic band. Had a great evening and would definitely return if I would (ever) go to back to Prague again.
I would recommend the event. My only complain is the event is not heated as it is announced in the pamphlets, so if you are looking for an indoor event to escape poor weather, you will freeze by being seated for one hour in a cold church.
We booked our tickets last minute during our visit to Prague. The concert was wonderful, we’d highly recommend.
Atmosphere was in the roof level, regrettably the presentation was a poor one. However, we heard the beautiful song to the moon and then we had to leave.
The orchestra played a little too fast for the chorus.
A very special moment in time. It was a luxury and privilege to sit in a beautiful room and listen to such varied music, particularly by Czech composers, delivered with professionalism and skill by three wonderful players. I loved the pianist's thrilling interpretation of some of the pieces and the musicianship of the flautist and of the gentleman who played the viola. Thank you for a fabulous experience.

A wonderful experience. The State Opera is a beautiful building to visit and the music was sublime. Both Orchestra and Singers gave fabulous performances and I especially admired the voice of Yaritza Veliz. My only disappointment was, as a collector of theatre and opera programmes, I couldn't find one! Thank you for such a memorable evening.
Many of the works felt rushed and seemed as though musician’s just wanted to get through the programmes. Very disappointed. I’m a musician and felt concert was a real tourist trap. Good programme but poor execution.
Fantastic musicians and environment
The concert was wonderful. Hearing music in this church was amazing. An hour was just the right amount of time. It was chilly and we sat in the pews but i was aware beforehand from reading other reviews so that didn't bother me at all. The sound made up for any small inconveniences.

Waclav arrived on time and was super friendly. Besides the "usual" spots and sights, he was able to provide us with great side information on everything we asked for and did it in a pleasant and humorous way, so it was never boring. The 1.5 hours flew by and we couldn't get enough. All in all: 11 out of 10 points! Gladly again.
PS: Next year we will take the ghost story tour :-)

What a fabulous evening! Performances were outstanding, especially Lucie Konkova who captivated the whole audience. Our first visit to Prague and hopefully not our last. Sad the subtitle technology failed half way through the second half but it allowed everyone to concentrate on the music on stage and not be distracted by the words. Bravis.
The performers were top quality and clearly knew how to put on a good show. The time flew by and we couldn’t believe it was already over. World class.
What can I say: Wonderful singers, excellent orchestra, great overall performance, enchanting venue. Highly recommended

Wonderful modern reinterpretation of a classic. The setting in an authentic Japanese onsen with steam and water and the video projections were all done with absolute good taste the scene with the oversized fans was amazing.
The cast with their singing and artistry was superb together with the orchestra, chorus and dancers

Koncert mi jako celek přišel spíše průměrný, pod moje očekávání. Těšil jsem se na hudebně zajímavou kombinaci varhan, sopranistky a ansámblu. Repertoár byl předveden na technicky velmi dobré úrovni, umělci jsou nesporně profesionálové. Prostor pro zlepšení však vidím zejména v tom, že by akce mohla být více než jen technické provedení sklateb. Chybělo mi v ní větší nasazení umělců, jakási emoce jejich nadšení z vlastního vystoupení. Celkově to pak na mě působilo jako komerčně laděná akce na podporu kostela, než opravdu umělecký zážitek. Publikum bylo dominantně turistické, což mně na dojmu nepřidávalo, ale i tak to nepovažuji za důvod, proč by akce, kterou si turisti zaplatí, neměla být pojata na lepší úrovni. Pokud si lidi něco z takových akcí odnesou, tak jsou to především emoce, které v nich zanechá.

Only the pandomime parts were OK, though mediocre. Other parts (dancers, visualizations) can be described as so unsatisfactory.

byla jsem velmi spokojena touto akcí- pro mě to byl zážitek, podívat se " z druhé strany" na činnost orchestru. Líbila se mi práce dirigenta, a obdivovala jsem, jak zjistil nějký nesoulad, hru přeručil a vysvětloval muzikantům.
Jsem seniorka a nebydlím v Praze, takže mi vyhobvuje i čas- 10 hod dopoledne. Pro mě to bylo pohodové prožití dne. Sleduji program Obecného domu a již jsem si jednu vstupenku na červen 2023 houpila.

If you enjoy the simple things in life, fun, food and laughter then you should go! My son (adult) and I went to the this Folklore night and we had an excellent night.
Traditional music, songs and dance. Great food and drink. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
We got a taxi to and from the near the town centre to the restaurant. Cost (approx) CZK556 / €23 each way.
The manager kindly booked the return taxi for us.

Although the location and singing were fabulous, the set looked as if it had been designed by a pre schooler and the costumes were bizarre, denim theme / costumes!

Regret to say I was rather dissatisfied with selection. Vivaldi for Christmas selection? Come on, you can find something better for sure.. Silent Night in german language? Why? You are in Prague, so go for czech. So, in general, if you are looking for quality, go somewhere else, this is show for tourists.

The Silent Night carol is a very popular carol and comes originally from Austria. Lyrics were written by Joseph Mohr in the 19th century therefore you listened to the version in the original language.

Absolument magique. Ce ballet restera un de mes plus beaux souvenirs de Prague. Je m’attendais à une représentation classique de Casse-noisette, mais l’histoire est en fait un conte hybride avec le drôle de Noël de Scrooge (« A Christmas Carol »). La musique reste celle du ballet. C’est drôle, c’est beau, c’est facile d’accès : n’hésitez pas. J’y retournerai sans hésiter si je peux.
Adventní koncert byl úžasný, nádherné naladění k Vánocům.

A wonderful performance of this classic opera. The use of cotumes, props and scenery was very effective. Above all the singers and orchestra were superb.

We really enjoyed the concert. There was a bit of confusion when we tried to get in, having got there early and at front of queue, were told we had to go back to ticketg office and exchange our online vouchers for actual tickets. This was a bit annoying, but worked out well in the end as we ended up in slightly better seats that we had booked. The music was beautiful. The Church was a bit cold, but we appreciated the heated seats! Thank you.

C'est toujours avec un immense plaisir que nous nous rendons dans cette MAGNIFIQUE salle de concert qu'est la salle SMETANA de l' OBECNI DUM.
Le programme était à la hauteur des lieux: SOMPTUEUX! Autant les artistes - solistes et orchestre de TEPLICE - que les oeuvres interprétées ( le concerto pour flûte de Mozart, le concerto pour violon de Mendelssohn et - pour couronner le tout - la symphonie du Nouveau Monde de Dvorak - ) nous ont enchantés.
Un grand MERCI à l'orchestre de TEPLICE pour nous avoir emmenés dans ces lieux célestes où seule la musique est capable de nous transporter.

Nous souhaiterions, ma femme et moi, vous expliquer pourquoi nous avons choisi le mot "faible". Noos tenons expressément à faire une distinction entre le lieu du spectacle ( Narodni Divadlo ) et la musique de Smetana d'une part, et la représentation ( la mise en scène ) d'autre part.
Autant la salle de l'opéra et la musique de Smetana nous ont enchantés - comme d'habitude -, autant la mise en scène nous a fait déchanter! Comment tolérer dans un tel "lieu sacré" (le Théatre NATIONAL, construit avec l'argent du PEUPLE TCHEQUE) et pour l' OPERA NATIONAL TCHEQUE, repris chaque année début janvier, un tel mépris des spectateurs en majorité tchèques! Comment tolérer de voir des 'acteurs' et 'chanteurs' déambuler en jeans et baskets sur scène façon HIP HOP, alors que le livret nous propose des danses folkloriques en habits folkloriques!!! C'est un sacrilège!!!
Je tiens à vous préciser que ma femme (Zdena) est d'origine pragoise et a été OUTREE de voir un tel mépris de l'âme et de la culture tchèques. Cela nous a conduit à quitter la représentation à la fin du premier acte: c'est la première fois en 50 ans que nous agissons de la sorte.
IL FAUT A TOUT PRIX NE PAS NOUS LAISSER ENVAHIR PAR LA SOI-DISANTE CULTURE WOKE ET PROTEGER NOTRE PATRIMOINE CULTUREL ET CIVILISATIONNEL. Nous le devons bien aux générations qui nous ont précédées et qui ont lutté pour LA LIBERTE, la leur et la nôtre.

We attended this performance in Dec 2022 which was held in an absolutely delightful Chapel. The evening concert of Christmas Carols & Vivaldi's Four Seasons was enjoyable & well performed. The Lady who sang the Carols had an amazing voice which made the evening exceptionally delightful.
The violin soloist was brilliant - a thoroughly enjoyable evening of Vivaldi & Carols :)

oceňuji nápad, že zpěváci procházeli kostelem a zpívali z různých míst, citlivě byla zvolena kombinace s varhaními skladbami
Akcia by bola fantastická ak by som prvých 20 minút nesnažil porozumieť či budeme počúvať iba orgán v pozadí, alebo bude nasledovať aj program. Pokazilo mi to zážitok, no po tom ako nastúpili hudobníci a speváčka som bol nadšený. Ďakujem za kultúrne podujate a do budúcna odporúčam jasne napísať v programe čo hostí čaká (aj menej hudobne znalých)

Koncert jsme si moc užily, jenom jedna připomínka - při zpěvu sopranistky byla slyšet puštěná klimatizace, zážitek by byl určitě lepší, kdyby klimatizace byla vypnutá. Při hodinovém koncertu asi není nutná.
Výborné provedení, zpěv, prostředí, zvuk. Děkuji za kulturní zážítek.
Doporučení - mohli byste poskytnout teplé podsedáky / deky, které při odchodu lidi vrátí - byla zima jak venku tak i uvnitř a když s tím člověk počítá a obleče se pořádně, tak sedět v té zimě 1 hod bez pohybu je na zadělání si zápalu močáku :-(

Le concert de Noël dans La Chapelle des miroirs a été un très bon moment.
Les musiciens, la chanteuse et la violoncelliste nous ont ravis pendant 1 heure.
C’est un concert que je recommande si vous aimez la musique classique ou si vous voulez la découvrir, ce n’est pas trop long et les morceaux sont bien choisis.
Atmosféra krásná a dobová. Prostory uchvatné. Hudba vysoce kvalitní. Jídlo mě až tak nezaujalo.

As it was "black light" theatre we had not expected there to be very much, if any, speech but there was quite a lot. There were English language translations on a screen but as that was on the upper far left of the stage and we were on the right of the theatre it was impossible to read most of the time. Apart from that the show was entertaining and the dance sequences were excellent. The combination of costumes, dance, lighting and theatrical magic made it a great night.
Content was not presented in a top-notch professional way. We could see the accompanists is the background. A few of the acts dragged on.
Představení se nám líbilo - co mě kazilo atmosféru a dojem z kulturního zážitku bylo to že během celého vystoupení byly vpouštěny opozdilci a ač byl koncert hodinový tak i odcházení lidí zřejmě na WC protože se vraceli což třeba mě teda rušilo atmosféru koncertu / nepsala bych to kdyby se jednalo např o dvě osoby / .
Jinak se budeme těšit na letošní koncert byl nádherný.

Provedení koncertu bylo skvělé, rovněž prostředí příjemné. Akce však měla výraznou slabinu v tom, že za celou dobu nikdo nepředstavil účinkující, natož repertoár, vše probíhalo bez jediného slova; přitom ani v programu nebyly účinkující uvedeny. Bylo to škoda.

Hudebníci přišli,odehráli odešli. Žádné uvítání, predstaveni. Prostě akce pro turisty. Byli jsme rodina 4 lidi. Za 2000 kč,velké zklamání.
The Cancioneta Praia choir provided an hour of wonderful professional singing. A very sleek performance by all involved. It was obvious that the choir enjoy singing and have a good relationship with their conductor. Pianist was faultless. I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed the choir. Would definitely recommend them and would love to see them again. Thank you Cancioneta Praga 🙏

I was not sure what to expect but the performance was outstanding and we were so happy that we attended. The church was a beautiful setting for the performance and for the first time we actually got to hear an organ play. I would say the one hour performance was the perfect time.

Boli sme unesení (traja). Hudba aj spev úžasné. Hudba znela, akoby tam bol celý orchester.... Výber skladieb príjemný. Krásny zážitok pri spoznávaní Jozefova v predvianočnom čase, kedy je treba aj nám kresťanom spomínať aj na všetky tie obete nenávisti a neznášanlivosti. Ďakujeme.
Koncert byl krásný, housle, zpěv i orchestr bez chybičky.
Koncert byl moc hezký, jen byla škoda, že všichni byli u varhan. Lidé okolo mne, vč. mne, z toho byli hodně nervózní. Myslím si, že kdyby pán hrající na trubku a paní, která zpívala, stáli i při hře na varhany před námi, byla by atmosféra mnohem hezčí. Když pak sešli všichni dolů, byl koncert úžasný. I lidé byli klidnější.

Très belle prestation des musiciens (2 violons, 1 alto, 1 violoncelle et une organiste) et de la cantatrice, et qui plus est, dans un magnifique lieu très intimiste. Le programme était varié entre morceaux classiques et populaires. Nous avons adoré ce moment. Bravo !

A wonderful evening, we were there for my wife’s birthday and it could not have been better. The performances were great and the orchestra and acoustics also were just perfect. A most enjoyable experience for a first time to Prague.
First, let me say that this is one of the finest if not THE finest orchestras in the world. I heard a fabulous rendition of Beethoven 5 and a powerful, masterful performance of Shostakovich 5 - this was a bit surprising because I thought I was going to hear Brahm's Requiem but I was delighted regardless of the repertoire. People will tell you that Berlin has the premiere orchestra in the world - I heard them 3 years ago and I think the Prague Philharmonic may have surpassed them. A long wait for me to be in Europe and in Prague when i could arrange to hear them and well worth the effort

Na koncertě Christmas Songs from Hollywood nezazněla ani jedna vánoční píseň. Místo toho jsme si poslechli klasickou hudbu, která byla použita ve filmech. Hudebníci hráli hezky, o tom žádná, vážnou hudbu máme rádi, ale přece jenom jsme očekávali jiný program. A nebyli jsme sami, během produkce někteří návštěvníci zklamaně (někteří naštvaně) odcházeli. Nevím kde se stala chyba, ale tento koncert neměl s vánočními písněmi nic společného.
Kulturní program / hudba více než skvělá. Ale zbytek zanechal spíše negativní pocity.
Osvětlení na stojanech, přímo mezi stoly. Špatné nasvícení účinkujících, oslňování publika, stojany rušící vizuální dojem místa.
Reproduktory taktéž hned u stolů. Společně s osvětlením šlo umístit na "sloupy".
Hlavní chod byl pojat velmi úsporně. Půlka některých řízků, byla takřka čistá strouhanka.
Část obsluhy neznalá základních stolovacích zásad, oblečena spíše na výlet v horách a navíc nepříjemná a arogantní.
Great concert in a beautiful baroque Church with very good acoustic.
We very much enjoyed this. It can be difficult to choose a concert in Prague since there are many different productions, most of which seem to include the same core set of pieces and composers, but we felt we picked correctly this time. We were very impressed by the soprano soloist. I'm gald we chose to pay a little extra for a seat closer to the front.
I am not a fan of opera - with the exception of 'Orpheus et Eurydice'- however I (together with my niece) had a fantastic evening. I was surprised to see so many secondary school pupils (in their best outfits) visiting the opera.
All in all a fantastic evening !

Velmi dobrý výběr skladeb.
Porovnávám to s obdobným koncertem v Musikverein ve Vídni (výlučně Mozartovy skladby, přídavky Strauss), na němž jsem byl před třemi týdny. Ve Vídni podstatně větší orchestr (cca 25 lidí včetně dřevěných a žesťových nástrojů i bubnů), byly i árie (soprán, tenor), koncert trval téměř dvakrát déle, muzikanti včetně dirigenta v dobových kostýmech. Ale zase vstupenky byly 2,5krát dražší. Takže asi jsem v Praze dostal představení odpovídající zaplacené ceně. Akorát po té Vídni to holt bylo v Praze takové chudší, i když muzikantům nemohu nic vytknout. Hráli dobře, se zápalem. A ve Vídni je taky lepší publikum, protože se tam netleská po jednotlivých větách. Zde chodí téměř samí turisté, ve Vídni bylo asi dost místních. Sál byl téměř plný, což taky kontrastuje s poloprázdnou Smetanovou síní. Holt jsme vůči té Vídni stále trochu provinční...
Celkově skutečně velmi dobrý hudební a kulturní zážitek. Trochu mne překvapilo pouze 6tičlenné obsazení orchestru a možná relativně slabší zvuk varhan. Také bych uvítala větší využití varhan v repertoáru (zvláště byl-li koncert zařazen do "varhanních koncertů"). Ani nám nedošlo, že tento typ koncertů je patrně určen hlavně turistům, kterých je už zjevně v Praze pro Vás naštěstí (pro nás bohužel) zase hodně. :-) Populární repertoár zvolen velmi dobře - opět i s ohledem na turisty.

Máme rádi pana maestra Baboráka a omezenou možnost ho slyšet hrát či dirigovat, proto jsme uvítali možnost si vychutnat výsledek jeho spolupráce se Západočeským symfonickým orchestrem Mariánské Lázně. Sólistky jsme slyšeli poprvé, jejich přednes nás uchvátil. F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy není v současné době bohužel příliš hrán, a to ani jeho varhanní skladby, na nichž jsme vyrostli. O konání akce jsme se dozvěděli náhodou 6.11. cestou kolem Lichtenštejnského paláce.

Tip: We paid the lowest price to sit at the back. When we got there it was almost full and we were directed to the balcony. This was easily the best place to sit!

A very enjoyable concert, thoughtfully curated, well organised, and informative.
Pleasant selection of light classics. The ten members of The Prague Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra played well together although the first violins were too quiet and weer dominated by the other strings. The soprano was well below acceptable and should not have been singing. The organ music was poor. A very average performance targeted at passing tourists.

I absolutely loved attending a concert in the renowned Lobkowitz palace. Three wonderful musicians presented a variety of music that appeals to everybody. The combination of Flute, viola, and Piano was unusual and very appropriate for the venue. The Lobkowicz Palace is historically extremely important in music, especially in their support Beethoven.
This eight member string ensemble is absolutely superb! They all sound like they could be members of the national symphony! The music was beautifully prepared and presented. We absolutely love the venue. Smetana hall has extraordinary acoustics which contributes to a very positive experience. Gorgeous Art Deco monument!
I recommend this event for anyone visiting Prague.

The best thing in this concert was the female singer, whose voice was so brilliant that it would have been worth a whole one-hour recital. The strings played quite well what there was to be played. The two 'edited' (adapted for this skeleton 'orchestra' and brutally shortened) versions of Smetana and Beethoven were an agony for a music lover to listen to. The organist seemed to be in a hurry to get home as soon as possible: there was little interpretation involved, for which reason (and perhaps also due to the quality of the instrument) the sound was what you can hear at a merry-go-round in an amusement park.
It was obvious that the concert was targeted at tourists. How sad that the organizers are too timid to raise the standard of such events by choosing authentic music, written for, e.g. string quartets, or recitals.
Was my first opera/operetta and loved how it looked like the actors/dancers were having such fun. Made it enjoyable and entertaining.

I enjoyed the show but mostly I enjoy the black character he was very good!!! The main ballerina made me feel a bit uncomfortable as she is to big and heavy for the men.
The opening concert of the Czech Philharmonic was outstanding and a sold-out performance. Prague Ticket Office made booking tickets very easy. Everything went so smoothly after booking online from USA several months ago. Highly recommend them -- worked like a charm!!

The band was good and each player performed to a great standard. I am more for rock and roll and blues, but I thought I knew what to expect and it was certainly up to standard. I enjoyed the concert and the venue was fabulous. This was my first time in Prague and this was an opportunity that I decided to take before going home to Iceland the next day. Thanks for the entertainment.

Koncert byl velmi pěkný. Trochu mě mrzelo, že někteří (spíše některé) návštěvníci věnovali dost často pozornost
svým mobilům.
A very enjoyable evening with very talented musicians and some spectacular music. The small intimate nature of this venue (in a church) and superb acoustics added to the atmosphere with close up views of the musicians as they performed various popular pieces of music. Our choice of VIP seats was worth the extra money due to our closeness to the orchestra and enhanced views. As I said, an enjoyable evening and well worth the money.
Nejlepší koncert tohoto typu ( nejznámější skladby nejznámějších umělců), který jsem slyšela. Zpěvačka paní Fajtová byla excelentní, také varhany a hl. housle. Všichni muzikanti byli profesionální. I watched the opera together with my family which included a musician. All of us enjoyed the event. The musician was pleased with the orchestra, the cast, the conductor and the director. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Prague.
The venue was very opulent, the staging first class, the performance was excellent, the orchestra was incredible, the staff very helpful and polite.

Good morning I have just sent a email to you regarding last nights concert music very venue great we had VIP seats but could see nothing really ruined what should have been a nice evening I can’t believe for the life of me why artists are not on some temporary rostrum or stage just 1.5 meters high would have improved the evening 200% it’s a pity they put so much energy into it but only around 20 people could see them it spoiled what should have been a nice evening. Give it some thought and lift them up for all to see. D J Weller
Kombinace skladeb Bacha, Francka a Ebena byla skvělá. Na samotného Ebena by se asi člověk bál jít, ale v této kombinaci nenásilně zjistil, že i současná hudba se dá poslouchat. Kombinace varhany - trombon úžasná.
Výborná zpěvačka, šikovná varhanice. Hudebníci z kvarteta zřjmě spěchali na další štaci, kromě (asi) druhých houslí se tvářili velmi nezúčastněně. Škoda, že nástroje nebyly sladěné, poslech by byl mnohem příjemnější.
This is such a great concert and a fun way to experience classical music. Music lovers should not miss this. The one hour passed so quickly and kept me wanting for more. Amazing talent and show.

The performances last evening were all excellent. The stage design is simple, but this does emphasise the performance of orchestra and singers. The acoustic is also sensational.

I also think that Richard Samek, who performes Don Ottavio, has excepcional talent. His emotional love declaration to Anna is an outstanding performance.

The Opera itself was exceptional. The singing was beautiful and the orchestra was incredible. The acting was very good and use of curtains and other props was suitably inventive.
However, The ticketing process was very poor. I never received my ticket via email and there were several other people who also did not receive their tickets. We were able to enter the venue but this ticketing problem caused much distress. Please review your ticketing process to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. The woman at the ticket counter could not find my reservation even with the email I was sent confirming that I had purchased a ticket.

Varhanik byl úchvatný, předváděl neuvěřitelně výkony a technickou stránku hry, přičemž jsem se ale plné ztotožňovál i s jeho stylem cítění hry na varhany, bylo to perfektní a chvílemi to bylo tak šílené a silné, ze to až přehlušilo vlastní myšlenky a vědomi, bylo to krásné, moc jsme se to užili, dekujeme.
As a visitor in Prague, I was truly excited about this opportunity. I was disappointed. The prima ballerina was good but nothing spectacular stood out. The chorus ballerinas were mostly fine, but many were expressionless. The males in the production were poor, however, with the exception of the Clown, who was entertaining. The Prince was awkward, often falling out of turns. We left at intermission, as did many others.
Special occasion. Good price, nice atmosphere, sounded great.

Marvellous! Beautiful venue and a truly enjoyable concert. Great to watch such obviously talented artists thoroughly enjoying themselves. It was a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend it.
The show was excellent, food was all good and service was also good. Just the access to the place was bit complicated. The place far away from the city. We’ve been refused by Bolts riding. There was no transportation around.

The show was well done, the orchestra and vocalists well trained. Food was ok. But services need to be trained. Servers seemed to be overwhelmed, we had to repeat several times to get orders including drinks. We paid for free drinks but we didn’t enjoy it a lot because they each time took long time to serve drinks and made sometimes order mistakes.
An enchanting and exhilarating evening. The church is incredibly beautiful inside and was the perfect place for an intimate and exciting evening of music.

Výběr skvělých hudebních kusu. Varhaník Robert Hugo naprosto excelentní. Sopranistka Marie Fajtova je nádherná a její přednes na mě udělal dojem. Orchestr hrál od srdce. Nejvíc by teto kvalitní akci prospělo vyžadovat od návštěvníků alespoň minimální dress code. Sandály a kraťasy v kostele a na živém koncertě poškozují celý zážitek.
Velmi krásný koncert, výběr skladeb nemohl být lepší a naprosto úžasní hudebníci a zpěvačka. Všem vřele doporučuji.

Koncert nádherný, veliká škoda, že tentokrát nebylo možné projít si před koncertem nebo po něm celou katedrálu (i starou část) a nasát atmosféru katedrály.
Jen bych uvítala více barokní hudby, v případě varhan především Bacha.
Hudba byla velmi hezká, profesionální provedení. Výběr skladeb hezký. Příjemný poslech. Byl to hezký zážitek. RaisováN
1) S českou návštěvou se na tomto koncertě asi nepočítá, každý na nás mluvil AJ.
2) Je třeba si poptávat ještě přesné místo vedle v podkladně. Každý nejprve hledá, kde koncert je, nasměrovala nás paní u Klementina na správné místo, čekali jsme na vstup, pak nám mladík u vstupu řekl, že si ještě máme jít poptat do podklady přesné sedadlo. Je to takový divný chaos.
3) A nakonec jsme neměli ani program v ruce k celému koncertu.
Přišlo mi to celé takové uspěchané a vlastně jsem si těch 50 minut koncertu ani moc neužila. A to jsem se velmi těšila.

For me and my daughter (13 years) it was the first ballet we have seen. So we are maybe not in position to rate the performance on ballet skills. But we enjoyed the show a lot and we had a great evening. It was really entertaining.

Lovely performance in glorious setting. Ensemble played some classical favourites appreciated by the audience. Nothing negative but signage to the event could be improved and the lovely room was on the warm side but it was 30’C+ outside. Location good for restaurants after this short but lovely pre-prandial entertainment.
Byla jsem doslova nadšena!
Dostala jsem se do katedrály bez obtěžování tisíců turistů, mohla si poslechnout překrásnou hudbu s famózní akustikou a ještě si v klidu chrám prohlédnout... Moc děkuji za konání takových akcí. Navíc se vše skvěle sešlo - venku bylo 34 st. a uvnitř příjemný chládek :-) Příští rok si akci ohlídám a určitě návštěvu zopakujeme!

Some difficulty at first finding the appropriate venue but then excellent.
This play was beautifully performed and it was easy to enjoy as a foreign viewer because of the inclusion of the English subtitles. The performers were all fantastic. Such talented people!

Paní Elena Sonenchine je skvělá jazzmenka, vtipná moderátorka, umí to s publikem a má výbornou kapelu. Její program k poctě E.Fitzgerald je milý a EF opravdu poctu vyjadřuje. Z muzikantů jsme si užili všechny a nejvíce kytaristu Mirka Linku. Měli jsme zde návštěvu muzikantů z Hamburku a ti byli přímo nadšeni.
Takže jen tak dál a Jazzu mír!

The string chamber players were of high quality, and overall a pleasure to listen to. However, the concert would have been better, if they were raised up a few feet so as to be visible to more than the front rows; and if more than strings were present in the chamber orchestra (Beethoven's 5th, and Ma Vlast sound rather empty otherwise). The organ solos, while good, were unusual in that the organ (and organist) were behind, and out of view above the audience, which gave the pieces a background, interludal feeling. Finally, it was a little distracting to have various soloists pack their instruments and jackets, and quite noticeably walk back through the church and audience, mid way through the next pieces.
A wonderful performance in a fantastic venue- well worth it! Highly recommended!
The band is very talented, an amazing singer with a water-clear voice, a professional pianist, and outstanding drummer. They have tried best during the event to conceal the sound issue and were able to make it to a great extent. Unfortunately, it ended sooner than planned.

Wow! This concert was amazing. It was very entertaining, even our 10 year old daughter enjoyed it. It had something for everyone. A wonderful evening and the Spanish synagogue was gorgeous.
The string chamber orchestra, while smaller than anticipated, were wonderful, a delight to listen to. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the way that the seats were allocated however (the impression being that it was nearly sold out, rather than the reverse).
The ballerinas were not technically that good and the theater was way too hot. It was a tourist attraction not a real ballet. I really over paid for it.

We loved the performances. The people playing were excellent. I like classical and dragged my family along, and they ended u0 liking it, and found pieces that appealed to them as well. Time well spent. The one change I would suggest is for them to speak to which piece they were playing. The theater itself is grand and the seats allow for good visibility.
I truly enjoyed the performance it was comical and entertaining. There were modern elements included in the choreography as well as the graceful moves of classical ballet. I suggest getting to the theatre early so you have time to take in the beautiful interior. The program is definitely worth purchasing as it gives a synopsis of the scenes which helps in the understanding of the story.
Please be aware, that the singers are very talented. Also how they change the stage to tell the story is great. But it is the play / the story itself that I didn't like.

Koncert byl pěkný, ale asi by se mi líbil více, kdyby do programu bylo zařazeno více skladeb pro hoboj (resp. varhany a hoboj). Pouze varhanní hudba se mi moc nelíbila, nejednalo se totiž o příliš známé melodie. Rodině se ale líbilo.

Nikdy jsem neslyšela tak dobré houslové unisono a čisté tóny. Nádhera, velmi povedené, mráz mi běhal po zádech.

La magie du ballet de "La belle au bois dormant" nous a conquis. Il reste encore dans notre tête un jours après. La salle est magnifique avec petit écran pour que on puisse lire le programme. Les danseurs sont impressionnants et la mise en scène est très bien réalisé. Félicitation à toute l'équipe!!! Je recommande vivement ce ballet aux autres!

Das Konzert am 16.05.2022, dem Geburtstag meiner Frau, war einfach nur fantastisch. Wir waren schon öfter zu einem Konzert im Spiegelsaal, aber dieses hat alle vorherigen noch übertroffen.
Die Musiker spielen mit so viel Herzblut, dass es einen nur begeistern kann. Der Höhepunkt des gesamten Konzerts war die Sopranistin, einfach nur Welt!!! klasse.
Wir haben schon so viele Sopranistinnen in unserem Leben gehört, aber solch eine tolle Stimme ( mit schier unglaublichen Höhen ) hat uns fast den Atem genommen.
Wir haben noch lange nach dem Ende des Konzerts um Fassung gerungen, so hat es uns fasziniert. Viel Spaß wünschen wir allen zukünftigen Besuchern.

This is my favourite opera and I have seen it many times, but I was very disappointed with this production. Among many aspects I didn't like: the first act was very drab considering it was a party; very little was made of the Spanish dancers in the second part of Act 2; we could not hear Violetta reading the letter in the final act as she disappeared behind a screen and her voice couldn't be heard; I cannot understand why the poor girl who was dying couldn't have a bed and had to throw herself on the floor. It was a real pity that the technology for the English translation didn't work. I took my daughter to see this opera for her first time, and it would have made a huge difference for her enjoyment if the technology had worked.

What a brilliant way to end our weekend on Prague. An amazing setting with wonderful performers. Particularly enjoyed Ave Maria and Spring and Summer 4 seasons. The organ sounded incredible. Would highly recommend.

Le lieu est très sympa, petite salle, proche des musiciens, public en nombre limité. Nous pensions assister à un répertoire classique, c'était en fait un mix avec du classique mais aussi des musiques de films, jazz et autres. Soprano très bien.

I love to come to Europe and listen to classical music in churches. It's one of my favorite things to do and I was not disappointed in this performance! In fact, I would have to say it was The top classical concert in a church that I've ever attended!! The music was beautifully performed and the acoustics in the church or unparalleled. You felt like you were in the music. I wish I could go again tonight!!

Titled "Gala Concert" of Symphony Orchestra (chamber) we expected something else. It was only a quartet plus organ and a soprano. A symphony orchestra in Germany is a big orchestra with brass players. Nothing indicative of a 'gala' could be found.
Although the quartet performed well and the singer did a good job. The organ performed very weak.

While concert was held in the most beautiful environment - Spanish synagogue, we were hoping for a bit longer performance and maybe for performance of full pieces rather than short extracts.
Très belle réprésentation de Rigoletto. Même si la mise en scène situe l'action dans les années 1970, il de a de bonnes idées, et ce n'est pas choquant. Les chanteurs étaient formidables, on a beaucoup apprécié. Un très grand bravo.

A most enjoyable relaxing hour listening to a variety of music that would lift your heart.
I would recommend to read about the program first, because there are many information to proceed. But the show reflected it in a very nice way. Even thought the stage did not change as strong as used by other shows, it still transferred the messages of the current handling in very good. I liked it. Especially the ending of the second act was my favorite! Amazing.
I loved it! The music, the orchestra, the stage design & many other details were amazing. By reading more about Rigoletto itself before, the scenes were captured very well. Can recommend it!

I was in Prague with my daughters for the first time. They don’t like opera, so I went alone. I booked a few hours before the show started, not really knowing what to expect. I thought it was lovely. An intense story and a good performance.

Thanks for the fantastic concert. Great musicians. Breathtaking repertoire. We are friends with classical music and at the concert we were with our daughters who are studying violin at a music school. This was the first time we heard music by the controversial Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff. This was the nicest evening in Prague during our trip to the Czech Republic.

I expected a great performance - worthy the legend of Prague being the center of art & romance - though felt very let down. There was minimal investment in the decorations, stage setup and story-telling. Furthermore, possibly the worst of all, choreographies were absolutely not synchronized. The latter is, for a ballet of this level, an absolute minimum. The dancers demonstrated their passion for ballet and I'm sure they could have achieved a much higher level of choreography, though I don't feel the choreographer put a lot of effort in guiding them. A true sadness for both performers and spectators. I will not return.

Takový koncert pro turisty, podruhé už bych spíš nešel.
Akustika v místě, kde jsme seděli, nebyla dobrá - občas nešlo slyšet ( obzvlášť sólové housle při rychlých partiích jako třeba u Vivaldiho ). Vidět jste interprety mohli jen při jejich příchodu a odchodu. Vybrat místa jste si prakticky nemohli - ačkoli jsme dle doporučení přišli 20 minut před začátkem představení, čekala na nás dlouhá fronta a pouštět do kostela se začalo až těsně před začátkem koncertu. Přední místa byla coby V.I.P. dostupná jen části publika, přičemž netuším, jak šel takový lístek koupit.
Zážitek z koncertu byl příjemný, bavilo mě procházet se noční Prahou a nechat si v hlavě znít melodie klasiky. Nicméně za příjemné okamžiky vděčím čistě hudebníkům, nikoli organizaci.
Très bonne direction d'orchestre. La troupe de chanteurs était homogène et engagée. La mise en scène était simple, efficace, peut être pas assez inventive. C'était une très bonne soirée. Je regrette que les surtitres soient uniquement en tchèque. On devrait y ajouter l'anglais. Il faudrait aussi des surtitres latéraux pour qu'on n'aut pas à lever la tête si haut (et perdre de vue la scène).

Unfriendly staff. Though we were some of the earliest guests the lady showing us to a table tried to force us to sit right beside the speaker. I asked her if our tickets were numbered (I knew they weren’t). She let us sit farther away but she was not nice about it. We left after 15 min as it was crazily loud.
I don’t know if “excellent” does justice to this performance. It was so good I am considering going again next week! Of course the opera Tosca is an excellent work; this cast makes it all better. Kudos to all.

Excellent production, far more intimate and personable than the ballet I see in Seattle. The dancers spoke to the audience and vice versa. Orchestra was fantastic. Props were especially powerful, showing tremendous effort in detail, variety, and the use of colors, same for the dancers costumes. Bravo!
Music quality: top. Decoration, costumes, general ambiance: lacking in my opinion. I wish the whole package were at the same level as Mozart's genius work and the artists' impeccable performance.

Superb, brilliant concert! I was not expecting this. The musicians, both the vocals and the Ensemble, were fantastic, better than perfect, with so much spirit I was elated at the end of the concert. The oeuvre by Buxtehude must have been wonderful, too, this was my first time listening to his work. And to think that I paid almost half of what I paid for the mediocre music hour in Clementinum a few days earlier! If the same concert was held again tomorrow, I’d be there in a heartbeat. Thank you!
Great talented band, really seemed to enjoy their music and clearly practiced a huge amount to give a fantastic performance worthy of Ronnie Scott’s (who we visit regularly). Nice venue too 👍 10/10

The event was okay. The music quality was average, nothing that made us gasp or our eyes water. The musicians or their synergy was lacking in spirit maybe?! I don’t know why exactly, but the whole thing did not leave any specific taste in my mouth.

Poor tourist concert unfortunately. I wouldn't review it in this matter if it hadn't been in one of Pragues most important buildings. Here I would have expected much higher quality.

Sorry sorry sorry : last sunday-evening we invited our hosts from Prague to see these so called 'highlights' from the Swan Lake ballet. This has been by far our worse theater experience ever. Please do go to experience this by yourselves : you have no idea how anybody can destroy this beautiful dance event (very disappointing dance capacities and performance -with some exceptions-, horrible over-mimiquing of the story-line, broken decoration, poor costumes and worse) ... i have no further words to describe this performance as very very very disappointing. Yet we have had a lot of fun replaying our experience on the streets of Karlin on our way home afterwards. It was an unusual show. We loved the best of each of the bests shows. It also had some funny moments where there was no use of the Black scenary. In any case, the black light parts were the best.
Výběr melodický. Klasika. Provedení perfektní. Podle nás větší zážitek z hudebního díla v tomto složení než z velkého orchestru.

Il n'y a pas assez de superlatifs pour qualifier cette soirée de concert du Nouvel An qui n'a rien à envier à celui de Vienne.

At the beginning of the ballet, I was not sure if it's a live performance or just a projection, because of the screen in front of the stage.

The Oper is very easy to understand in Czech Language, (Engl., CZ Subtitles were available). Little Minus Point for not having German Subtitles. We Visited with a 8 Year Old. It was perfect length and Speed for Beginners in the World of Classic.

Jediná výtka - ani v programu, ani nikde jinde jsem nenašel, kdo konkrétně zpíval a kdo hrál. Pokud dochází k alterbnaci, prosím, aby do programu byl vložen lístek se jmény interpretů pro daný koncert.

Skvelý koncert v nádhernom prostredí
Jednalo se o nádherný zážitek, skvěle vybrané skladby i skvěle interpretované. Když se zvučný soprán nesl chrámem, vánoční atmosféra byla úplně hmatatelná. Moc děkuji za takový zážitek a určitě na některý z koncertů zase ráda přijdu! Děkuji i za vytištěný program, díky kterému bylo lehké se orientovat.
Výkony interpretů byly výborné, Výběr díla ale dosti komerční - osvědčené fláky - chyběla tomu trochu duchovní atmosféra. Krátký výběr českých koled na konec byla úlitba adventní době. Celkově tedy provedení výborné, ale celkový dojem nepříliš silný. Takový hudební "český trdelník s jahodami". Neurazí, ale za dva týdny už si nevzpomenete.
Jako celek na mě představení působilo trochu kostrbatě, připadalo mi, že skladby k sobě mohly být vybrané vhodněji, část z nich mě příliš neoslovila. Ale velmi oceňuji umělecký výkon všech zúčastněných

Krásný koncert se skvělými solisty (varhany, zpěv, smyčcové kvarteto) v krásném prostředí kaple.
Dobrý den, koncert byl krásný, i když už bych sem tam změnila repertoár na více vánoční tématiku neb na všech možných podobných akcích nejen vánočních běží Vivaldi. Už se z toho stává téměř odrhovačka, i když si to Vivaldi nezaslouží.
Úžasné místo , zpěvačka, varhaník i všichni ostatní. Podařený výběr repertoáru.
Opravdu jsme si to užili.

Jen sopranistka by to měla respektovat. Vysoké tóny byly příliš "hlučné", nejspíše kvůli nádechu pro jejich dosažení. Přechod nebyl plynulý, minimálně akusticky.

Imagine Doncaster Rovers football club playing on a muddy pitch in front of 200 supporters. This ballet was worse. Uncoordinated, dancers that walked over the stage, probably the worst experience I have endured in my 67 years. I have seen 8 year olds dance in more style. Not worth the money, sorry.
