Where to go?
||October 20, 2017 | 20:00 (Fri)
The band suits perfectly to the festival philosophy of the Strings of Autumn. Their sound is firmly based in a musical crossroad of styles, where the melancholic tones of traditional Irish music mix with modern shades of jazz and contemporary classical and experimental compositions. Although "the gloaming" is the time of dusk, the band is more of a ray of light on the current scene. The authenticity of their expression is guaranteed by the depth of involvement of each of the band's members in the traditions of Irish music. Violinists Martin Hayes and Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh and singer Iarla Ó Lionáird devoted themselves to the music of their culture in their early childhood, and they are among the few to have succeeded in finding their own distinctive sound. In their search for exquisite harmony and impeccable focus, The Gloaming have joined forces with New York pianist and producer Thomas Bartlett (Doveman) and Chicago guitarist Dennis Cahill.
The concert has no intermission.
The VIP ticket allows you to enter the VIP zone where you can enjoy a welcome drink at 7pm. You can also come there after the concert for further refreshment.
