Richard Galliano & Radek Baborak Ensemble
Richard Galliano - accordion and bandoneon virtuoso from France is a highly cherished composer and an amphibian of the worlds of jazz and classics. He is currently the only accordion player with a recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Galliano has recorded more than 50 albums under his own name, he has worked with many excellent artists from all different genres, and - as he himself notes - he has accompanied almost every single major French singer, such as Charles Aznavour or Juliette Greco. His concerts are always a memorable experience, whichever of his aspects you are a fan of - classic, ethno, or jazz. He employs his practically unlimited technical talent in the service of music, and he also has a great knack for choosing compatible musicians to band with.
For his concert at this year's Strings of Autumn, he will be joined by world-leading hornist and brilliant maestro Radek Baborak's Orquestrina to perform a repertoire built partly on the most classical of classics (Mozart) and partly on the iconic creators of more cutting-edge styles: Tango Nuevo (Piazzolla) and New Musette (Galliano himself).
